Jesse does not seem to understand that there are women with non viable pregnancies, where the heart is still beating but the fetus will never be able to live outside the womb, who have NOT been able to get the same procedure she did because it’s considered an abortion. So she is very blessed to have been able to choose that procedure, even though she doesn’t support the same for others.

Yes thank you, she IS a hypocrite for THIS reason. We understand the baby was already dead but she and her family helped to make this same procedure illegal for women in other states who now have had to go through the horrifying weeks of your baby rotting inside of you to the point it is causing bruises all over the stomach. It's absolutely horrific to do this to women, that fact that SHE doesn't or WON'T understand this is absolutely selfish and disgusting.

I think it's actually more useful to bring up cases where someone did have a miscarriage but it didn't pass out of the body and became a risk to the mother. The mother could not get the procedure she did because even though the fetus was dead, it could still be considered an abortion so medical professionals waited until the mother could not be saved. That is far more important and something that could change her mind. To say "hey, someone could be in your position, have something go wrong after the miscarriage and need this DNC but be denied it out of fear of prosecution. You could have had a completely different outcome due to the very laws you have been advocating. If you don't like that, you may need to reconsider your stance and start listening to medical professionals who have been saying 'this situation happens and these laws tie our hands.'" I think rather than focusing on cases that differ too much, to create cognitive dissonance and that moment of reconsidering, you need to pick cases where it is nearly identical to hers and show how the medical staff put the legal ramifications first and how, if it had been her, she'd be dead right now.

This dialogue, as it unfolded on Twitter and the misinformation and confusion that followed, harms the goal of getting our rights back. We will not win if we fight against a stance they don’t actually hold.

Something that may have been missed by those who don't know. Jessa mentions that she talked with her doctor about "taking something" and letting the miscarriage process at home. That drug she's talking about is the same drug she's trying to get banned with all her anti-abortion crap. One of it's uses is for people who have had a missed miscarriage and don't want to, or it isn't safe to, let it process on it's own. She had options. The same options she's trying to stop from being available.

I live in Texas. I had a miscarriage last fall and THE VERY FIRST THING I thought when i found out that the baby stopped growing was to wonder if I was going to have to go to another state to get the care that I needed (which was a D&C, because the thought of waiting it out at home and in pain was the most horrific thing I could imagine), and I started looking at which states were options..
I didn’t think about what I or my partner might be going through emotionally, or how it might affect my well-being in the coming weeks and months. I was ONLY concerned with how much worse it was going to get before it would get better and what I might be forced to go through based on our new laws - I was scared. And I was pissed.
Fortunately, I have the means and support and privilege to be able to find an alternate solution, but many people do not. And MORE FORTUNATELY, Texas pleasantly surprised me and I was able to get my procedure without much pushback since the pregnancy had clearly ended, but it is not fair that I had to feel that fear above all other emotions during such a confusing time.

My doctor was surprised that I wasn’t septic yet. I’m grateful for it, I could have had a multitude of possible outcomes, but I went on to have a healthy baby a year later. To deny another person the choice of how to handle it is playing god with another person’s life. I won’t be responsible for that, you decide what is best for you. problem is that many doctors/ hospitals in the states that outlawed abortions don't want to risk a lawsuit or prosecution for performing a d&c even for "natural" miscarriages. I also heard a utah doctor saying she had to specify which pharmacy her patients get their prescriptions filled at, because the meds to help a woman through a miscarriage are the same meds used for abortions (the drug makes the placenta detach from the uterus so it doesn't stay in the body and rot), and some people like to judge why you're taking it.

She *chose* what she wanted to do, in order to handle an extremely difficult situation, in the best way for her. It’s unbelievable to me that I fight for her right to choose, but she’s fighting to take mine and yours away from us. Even though she made the choice, she’s fighting against us having the same options. I’m not fighting for a forced abortion, I’m fighting for choice. Like Jessa enjoyed. Why women actively vote against their own best interest and others, absolutely baffles me. They are actively saying women are not equal, and are unable to make decisions for themselves. I've seen higher estimates in more recent times. It's a very rocky road to birth for a zygote, most don't make it. Many of the miscarriages may not be recognized because they happen so early, in the attachment phase.
And a six week old embryo does not have a heart beat because it doesn't have a heart, only primitive cardiac cells. We look pretty much like any other mammal at that stage and for some time after.

I cannot fathom a person having to go through a pregnancy if that isn't want they truly want. His father, Mark Alan Blackwelder, is a dean at Freed-Hardeman University, a Church of Christ college in Henderson, Tennessee. The name of N. B. I didn’t know what to do at first the doctor gave me options of a d&c or I could naturally pass or take medicine to help it pass but those risk infection and not getting all of the pieces of the pregnancy out. I should have scheduled it right away but thought for a few days and the day I scheduled the procedure I started bleeding. The next day was the procedure and I started cramping so bad I went to the ER at 9am and started gushing blood out I was writhing in pain for hours morphine barely helped the pain.. I had the procedure around 1 pm once I woke up I felt 1000000xs better I finally had relief and closure. Just how many times since roe v Wade has been pushed down has someone been legally bound to carry their child who they have miscarried? How many times has their doctor and medical staff been worried that they would be close to death due to septic shock for carrying a deceased child in their belly? Yet they were forced to do so just short of death.

Interesting that they're basing Josh's appeal on a technicality.
I knew someone facing the exact same charges, with a family just as supportive of him.
They tried to argue that the FBI's search of their house (where they found the cp) was unlawful because they didn't have a warrant, so the entire case should be thrown out.
It didn't work because the FBI doesn't need a warrant if you _willingly invite them into your home._
He's about 10 years in to his 30-year prison sentence, and his family still maintains that he was framed.
I can't imagine what defending a predator for so long must feel like.

There are religions that have no issue with abortion and don't see it as an independent life until _after_ the child is actually born - Judaism is ironically one of them. In Judaism, the child isn't considered alive until they take their first breath. Just saying.
I know, the Pope of the Jews, Ben Shapiro would disagree with that, but Shapiro has spent the majority of his career catering to an evangelical audience and telling them what they want to hear. So forgive me if I don't care what he has to say on the subject.
