*09:39* should read, "Let's HEAR some stops meant to emulate stringed instruments . . . "

Thanks for producing this video. I already knew a lot about Organ Mechanics and Registrations but the explanations provided herein might better help some of our "Wanna Be Volunteer Organists" appreciate how the various permutations work together or against each other. Hearing a master organist is similar to hearing someone pull the best possibilities out of a modern electronic keyboard/sythesizer. Generally, most individuals will not take the time to study and learn the many capabilities of their instrument. At the church I attend we hold a monthly Sunday Evening HymnSing. Just recently, there was a guest in the audience who strolled up to our organ (a 2 manual 34 Rank Allen Digital Organ) after the event and started playing. Others in the congregation who were preparing to leave spun around somewhat aghast and asked, "Is That Our Organ"? To which I replied Yes, IT IS. Pretty amazing eh? Oh, the Touch of the Master's Hand! Turns out he was the Organist from the largest Catholic Cathedral in the city where I live but just stopped in to enjoy the hymnsing. He's be welcome ANY time.
I must say that the 2 manual organ featured in this video sounds pretty incredible and I really enjoyed the teacher's presentation.

Clayton Root Yes, it’s amazing how two different organists can make the same organ sound entirely different. Thanks for the compliment of the organ. It does pretty well for a 12 rank! Stop by and play it if you ever find yourself in Roanoke Rapids!

The only way I could experience the organ was to build one. That took me 12 years. It was well worth it. Enjoyed this video. Thanks.

When he mentions fraction stops, aren't those also called mutated stops? Stops that aren't 4', 8', 16'?

Chris Wright i thought the same thing, but on Google images there are a few images like yours titled "machaut". That's it, it's Google's fault. Very cool and interesting video tho : )

The pipe organ is a dreadful instrument. But aside from that having a hard time finding real history of it.. Just brief mentions of it being possibly greek. This being an essential thing to the church.. Personally I think this instrument is early use of sound technology but for ill reasons.. It sounds sinister no matter what you play.. The pitches are painful... You could not stand anywhere near it at its loudest...
