He lost his attempt at reelection after his first term as governor, so he is not as politically invincible as he perceives of himself, a perception for which he refused running as Obi’s VP. Ibrahim Shekarau had to take a backseat to Kano politics for Kwankwaso to seem politically firebrand leader of Kano again. My point: ANPP needs to align with other parties to remain relevant, else APC will eventually rig them out of Kano state.
