Hi! You can use a large pot that comes with a lid. Make sure it’s large enough to fit the Nian Gao dish and for your fingers/tool to fit when you need to take it out. Roll up 3-4 balls of foil and place the foil balls spaced out in the pot. Fill the pot up with enough water to steam (similar to that of the video) and then place the Nian Gao dish on top. The foil balls can act as a steamer stand so make them large enough to hold up your dish in the pot you’re using. Alternatively, turn a small heatproof plate or small bowls upside down and place them inside. They can also act as a steamer stand if you don’t have access to foil. Hope that helps!
@WokandKin thank you very much! May i ask another question? Chinese brown sugar is very hard to find where I live, could I substitute it with regular brown sugar?
@@desil30stm You sure can! Just keep in mind that the colour will be slightly different depending on the type of sugar that you use. Also, the taste will be slightly different simply because some sweeteners have more of a toffee or caramel flavour whereas some have a sharper sweetness. Just adjust the amount to your preference! Enjoy 😁
