I don't know where you are but it's not so uncommon here in the US especially with Asian girls and white guys. My Filipina grandma is 5'2 and my grandpa is 6'2. I myself (6') come from a tall family since my dad is German/Scandinavian. So, we tower over grandma when we are with her and when we visit Asia.
