What about the hose connected to the inlet of the pump. If the hose itself is 20 feet long, will i need to put water in the hose as well or will it pull water through?
Actually the water filled in casing must be somewhat higher level than that of suction pipe volume. This is an indicative lecture, just to learn why priming is done....
Self priming pump consist of non returning valve in entry pipe which stop water to going back to reservoir when pump is switched off hence casing remains always filled from the water.
Dear sir kindly clarify my one doubt because I think there is a slight mistake in the diagram that you have showed at 1:54 I think even the suction line should also be shown completely filled with water in the middle diagram or else the pump won't work...what do you think...please reply
This is an indicative explaination for, , 'technically why priming is required ,' it depends on the diameter of suction pipe, if it is sufficiently less no need to fill it with water. strictly speaking there are few more things required, there must be a non return valve at the sump-end of suction pipe. The length of suction pipe must be less than 10 m, Check out my lecture on NPSH.
Thank you for the tutorial. Your explanation allows many aquarium canister filter owners to know the reason why they need to prime their canister filters.
Great explanation, question i can't get the priming screw open on a centrifugal pump, but the pump if below water level and when i open a return valve that's right next to the pump discharge water starts coming out, because it's below the water level, if this happens does this mean that the pump is primed right? i mean it's full of water so it should be correct?
Hi! My pump is 200meter away from where i receive water. So I have to go prime the pump every time when I start the motor. And this happens 2-3 times per day. Is there any way the pump can hold water without priming the pump?
Sir pulling force is directly analogous to the pushing force means??thora feel nahi ho raha h kuki same amount or space ko hi to hm vaccant kar rahe h rotation se
Dear Sir , thanks for the video.....our lecturer has given us a task on this topic....and this is what he ask...try to google search but not able to find it...the question goes..... What is the “fundamental equation of centrifugal pumps”? What does each term in the equation mean to the working of a centrifugal pump?
Thanks mate. I was watching this while priming my well centrifugal pump.. Just to clear my mind..
Thank you sir for the clear explanation, easy to understand and easy to eloborate to others if needed to share the information. Thank you again.
Simple and sweet explanation. I love it
I recently bought a centrifugal pump but it has no priming port. Just the inlet and outlet port. Where do I prime it? Thanks!
It could be self priming....

Exceptional!! This is the best explanation that I have ever seen on priming. Thanks
Super sir.. What I was looking to understand exactly..
Thank you so much sir, this cleared my long-time doubt about priming!! Thankyou
I finally fully understand. Thank you
We need to fill full pipe down to the bottom
Technically yes
Hello, thank you for your explanation. Does the diameter of the suction pipe need to be bigger than the delivery pipe?
Yes it does
my ear is tingling hearing your voice
What happens in the self priming pumps? I mean how does it prime itself?
+Ganesh Hosur google it its a big story...
Then why are you making video?
Self priming pump consist of non returning valve in entry pipe which stop water to going back to reservoir when pump is switched off hence casing remains always filled from the water.
What an explanation sir hats off.....
Please sir do I need to change any thing in centrifugal pump to use it as turbine generator
francis turbine is reverse cetrifugal pump
Fantastic explanation! Thank you Amit.

please told me, when when single stage jet pump lifting start the water letter a few minutes loss the pressure and pump is not lifting the water.
Very beautifully explained
Best explanation about priming on youtube
Thank you for the tutorial. Your explanation allows many aquarium canister filter owners to know the reason why they need to prime their canister filters.
Kudos to the way of explanation, good job man
Great job. Excellently explained
Thank you sir, very clear explanation, but continue doing videos sir.
Nice clarification sir
(With example )
Thanks sir
Very good mentor he is.
Thank you so much. Wonderful explanation.
Thank you so
much for the explanation
Pretty nice explanation
Very well explained ...

why motor in our houses are placed at low level. Is reason above what u explained?
No that is entirely different story
At what level minimum water should be fill for priming( inside the casing) or it is necessary to pump casing should be fully filled with water?

Try self priming pump
Sir what will happen if we fill the pump through delivery pipe
Great explanation. Thanks!
Excellent video 👍👍
Excellent explanation 👍
Splendid explanation
Thank you so much for detailed explanation 👍❤️
How can the air effects or damage the impeller?
+Aown Lawati it depends upon blade material
Very nice video ..it's much helpful for me understanding about priming
Very nice explanation!
Great video! Thank you.
what will happen if i start pump without priming
Adequate force or head will not develope due to air thatswhy delivery of water will not be possible
Very clear. Thankyou
good video thank you

Elaborate your question
Awesome explanation 👏👏👏
Nice explanation
Excellent explanation
Clear explanation thank you sir
thnak u sir ji 4 explaining priming.
Very good explanation. Thank you.
Technical way of explanation...
jazakallah khair Sir
Excellent explaination thanks a lot sir

Nice explanation Sir
U tell why priming necessary but how it works🤔
Nice clarification
Thankyou

You explained it better
Sir vacuum is created but what is the logic. I mean it's ok vacuum is creat at center but why center and how ?
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Best lecture sir
so non priming????
Super sir
Tq so much sir
friendly advice. if you cannot speak English well... slow down. Speaking faster does not solve pronunciation issues, it makes them worse.
Thanks I understood it
Nice
Amazing
Good
Thank you sir
