It's from The Exorcist performed by Mike Oldfield and is called Tubular Bells (the original version is over 25 minutes long) Oldfield did 3 mixes the last is over 75 minutes long!!! I absolutely love this mix!
If you're still looking for this song, it can be found on the U.K. edition of the Fight the Future soundtrack. When the first X Files movie was released overseas, it used to open with this song before the actual movie began (think the musical interlude played before Star Trek: The Motion Picture begins) and was then included with that edition of the soundtrack. Hence, its exclusion from either of the U.S. versions. Hope this helps.
@BartoshEntertainment - OFFICIAL CHANNEL Maybe Bob Will lives outside of Europe since this particular track was only released on the European Version of the Fight the Future movie OST album...
On the 2000s some channels just play music when the transmission was off and one night I woke up while this was playing scared af and could find the remote
Even though I grew up with The X-Files and have been a die-hard since episode 1, it occurs to me how much this sounds like 'Metroid Prime.' In only the best way possible.
@marksnowfan Sorry I should of been more clearer. Tubular Bells became famous back in 1970's due to Mike Oldfield performing every instrument you hear solo. Since then Oldfield has released 2 more versions of Tubular Bells. For Tubular X Mark Snow took elements from Tubular Bells version 3 and mixed it with The X-Files Theme. Oldfield gave his consent for the mix to be made and Mark credited him for it. Mike was also producer of the mix. However Mike didn't make Tubular X Mark Snow did. Hope that clears it up.
This track and also the Tubular Bells III extract from the album, the Essential Mike Oldfield, are two of my favourite Mike tracks. I like him more when he lets his hair down a bit.
Wow, an X-File in itself. Thank you for the info. I do have a copy of the song although it doesn't appear on either FTF soundtrack I have; one is the original motion picture score and the other contains songs by various artists. Again, thanks for that info. I may have to search for this elusive 5-pack!
@Soni77777 from wikipedia: The maxi-CD includes four remixes of Mark Snow's theme to the television series, The X-Files. Notably "Tubular X" is part Snow's theme and part made up of a theme based upon Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. Another track from Oldfield also appears, "The Source of Secrets", the opening piece from his Tubular Bells III album, which also based upon the same theme from the original Tubular Bells.
This track was a hidden track on the soundtrack. It was track zero, you had to rewind when starting track one. I also think this was only on the European version of the soundtrack, but I might be mistaken about that.
This is a rela Oldfield verion. he recorded it when he lived in Inbiza (Spain) in "Tubualar Bells 3 age". There are the same sounds and instruments. I Know it because i´ve got a Spanish magazine where he sais that.,...
good question. I have found that "Notably "Tubular X" is part Snow's theme and part made up of a theme based upon Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells." but i think its made by mark snow...

@HTEETH1 It is on the official Soundtrack - but there are different editions where exactly this track is missing. Search amazon.com for B000006OAQ Search amazon.de for B000024B93
@@MikeWilsonBarrett The album credits say "Written by Mark Snow; T C F Music Publishing (ASCAP). Produced and Performed by Mike Oldfield". Mark Snow wrote the original X-Files melody, no-one's claimed otherwise, but if you're saying that Mike Oldfield didn't perform this version, you're going to need some proof.
This is an excellent adaptation of both themes, but... Say again, on which album can this be found? I have both official "Fight the Future" soundtracks and I'm sure this awesome version appears on neither. Any help?
This video is the best i fell like whenever i play this song i feel like UFOs are invading the earth :P lol this music gives me the crepes and it this is a crepy song :(
hmm i have it from pack of 5 x files albums and this song was in The X Files Album : Fight the Future.. 100%... buy yea when i search this album on net it doesnt seems to include this song

2:39 Is someone hear that voice who talk something at that time ? I think may be is Mulder voice who tell something with echo effect, but I don’t understand what, someone knows ?
UA-cam showed this to me in 2022. I am feeling blessed.
Two of the most magical tunes fused together ... this is pure bliss!
Finally I found it from a GTA San Andreas Alien caught on cliff video
Still here in 2022 ❤ hearing this song brings me back in time to a better place.

It was only relesed only on Japan EP "The X-Files Theme".

This very best and scary than original!
This version was done by Oldfield, not Snow.
False. Was made by Mark Snow with Oldfield producing and collabing.
