I just wanted to leave a quick comment to let you know another way to separate the different parts of the pineapple you could also duplicate the pineapple in design space and contour. If you would like to see how I duplicate and contour you can watch this video ua-cam.com/video/J7hkyEp9-P0/v-deo.html I do this at 1:45 so you can jump right to it. You can separate the SVG either way :)
Kayla's Cricut Creations Thank you for making this video! It was very helpful as I am learning how to use my cricut machine. I subbed to your channel. You rock!
Kayla's Cricut Creations so I found a pine apple like urs and I cut out the hole in the middle and when my circut cut it, it didn’t cut out a circle for me to put the name into
I just got my Cricut Explorer Air 2 and I was so worried about making multi colored, layered decals and this video just explained it in a way that makes it so easy! I can't wait to try it.
I just bought a Cricut for my man stuff but wanted to make something like this for my wife for her birthday. Thank you! I also like those little registration bars. It seems like a really easy and simple way to make my life...well easy and simple. Thanks!
The most helpful YET!! I spent HOURS trying to figure out how to layer my Grinch design!!!!! I finally got it but I feel like it was the hardest way I could possibly have done it, LOL!
Thanks for this. Only wish you had explained the registration marks when you put them in, made sense once I saw what they were actually for. By far the best video I’ve come across on layering vinyl!
Thank you for the step-by-step demonstration. I'm going to use registration marks, which are new to me and seem like a great way to keep everything aligned. I've watched this video several times. It's one of the most helpful that I've found. Thank you.
Thank you for making your videos at just the right pace. As a Cricut newbie I found this incredibly helpful for learning how to do multi color vinyl projects.
Saw this video for the first time today, and it is SUPER helpful. I had been churning over in my mind the best way to do multi-color vinyl, and I can't figure out why I never thought about the idea of using registration marks. This is brilliant, thank you so much for making this video.
I have found that by rubbing both front of transfer tape and back of vinyl paper makes for a cleaner and easier lift to my vinyl's. I feel more prepared to make multicolored layers now. Thank you
I rub my transfer tape on some fabric before putting it on the vinyl. For example I lay the sticky side on my sofa to get a few fibers on it. That way it's not so sticky to the vinyl and the vinyl removes easier. I use regular clear shelf paper from Walmart. Now I have to learn how to use registration marks! LOL Thanks for sharing this video. You simplified the process and now I'm not afraid to try using them.
I only recently bought an Explore 2. Loving it. You mentioned in this video about a different transfer tape. I use clear contact paper. So much easier to deal with and peels nicely. Works great for me. I really enjoyed this video. Now it's time to go try using multiple colors. Thank you so much.
If I’m doing cups or something small, I use lint rollers! Pull one piece of the lint roller off and press the sticky side to the vinyl just as you would regular transfer tape. It works great!
I used your video as a guide to make a cool decal for my car. I simply grouped the images of different colors and welded with the registration marks. It was then easy to cut each color and align with the marks using your technique with the transfer paper.
This was very well described. As soon as I get my vinyl I will give it a go. I have heard that contact paper works well as transfer tape. You can buy it at dollar stores.
This was the MOST helpful explanation on how to layer I have seen. I had to stop and restart so I could write down each step. QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS PRINTED ANYWHERE? THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, KAYLA!
This is an older video but just seeing it. This helped a lot! Expressions Vinyl has great transfer tape! I've never had an issue with it not sticking to the transfer tape from them! And the price is great for the quantity and quality!
An easy way to peel and have it stick to the transfer tape is to turn upside down where the hard part is on the top, hold clear part down while peeling away the hard part at a sharp angle, works perfectly every time!
Thank you!! I actually learned a few things here (had no idea about the registration marks) and you were easy to follow and understand so new subscriber and thank you again!!!
THANK YOU for making this video. I just got my first circut and have been playing around with it. This video makes so much more sense than what I have been trying to do 😂 I would have never thought to make the little squares on the bottom.
I used the weeding to to help weed off the images from vinyl instead of my finger. Once u get it you will breeze through it. Or u can take weed tool and barely lift image from vinyl then use transfer tape to peel off completely. I hope I'm making sense. And for this video...I feel like a can be PRO now by layering now. Very good tutorial.
Flip over the piece and peal the backing paper from the transfer tape opposed to pealing tape off the backing paper. IE. keep the transfer tape flat and pull up the backing. Some have noticed rubbing the back of the backing paper helps release it.
Thanks for sharing, to get a better stick to transfer tap lay the vinyl down and rub backing and the peel the vinyl backing I have had good luck doing it that way.
I have better luck getting the vinyl stuck on the tape if I lay it face down and peel the backing off. As you peel it off bend it completely back down as you pull it off, if that makes sense. Also helps, when you put your tape on, scrape the front side then flip it over and do the back side. That's what works for me. The cricut roller is awesome for this also. Great video..
Omg! I’m just starting off and have had the hardest time even knowing what to search for when printing on different color vinyl. Great video! Can’t wait to actually do this!!!
I have had alot of good luck with using heat on transfer tape .... hair dryer for a few seconds. I bought a 100 ft roll of transfer tape and i was having alot of issues and didnt want to buy more. Works like a charm! Nice video.
Thank you for this! I am about to throw my transfer tape across the room. I will try this. It is not releasing the vinyl. My final is tearing from the vinyl paper. I will blow dry both. Wish me luck.
not sure if you are still having trouble getting the transfer tape to stick to the vinyl or not but i have found it to work better if once you have the transfer tape on the front of the image if you flip it over and scrap the back of the vinyl paper it helps it transfer the vinyl better
I’m thinking of getting a cricut machine, glad I’m researching beforehand. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I only have a couple of issues with this tutorial and it’s just a personal experience for me. It can be a bit annoying to hear the word “um” so many times and you talk so fast it makes it longer to follow the instructions as you would need to watch it several times to complete the project. That’s just me, otherwise it seems from other people’s comments you have helped many people out. Good job on that.
I tried to do this yesterday for the first time and I had the exact same problem with the vinyl not sticking …it took so long finally got it but had to use my nails and the Cricut weeding tool..🤦🏻♀️. And the thing is I was using the Cricut transfer tape. My image just wouldn’t come off 😂😂😂. Hopefully it get easier with more practice 🙆🏻♀️. Thx for the video👍🏻
Thanks for this! I have a Cricut Maker and in all honesty I didn't watch any UA-cam videos on how to do anything in the Cricut Design Space app. I literally messed with everything to figure it all out on my own but watching this video afterwards makes it seem so much more simple then I had made it for myself!😂
Oh Mylanta!!! Thank you for this video. I am a newbie and just learned how to upload an svg file but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to make my image in different colors. One color is soooooo basic. And this video really helped me out MAJORLY!
I am looking so forward in getting my maker. It should be here Thursday. I have a Silh. Cameo but it crapped out on me and I’ve only had it a year. It looks like the cricut is made so much better and it doesn’t look hard to master at all. I can’t wait!
You can use any transfer tape (I use contact paper the ones that you use to cover books) but if it takes too longs to transfer turn it upside down and remove the unwanted paper (white one) so you bend the unwanted paper and keep the vinyl straight
When you lay the transfer take down make sure to scrape the front AND BACK and it should make it easier, also I heard but haven’t tried the PressNSeal Saran Wrap works well too.
Very helpful video, I think the only thing I'm going to change is putting the registration marks at the top instead of the bottom to save vinyl! Thanks!
Transfer tape from expressions vinyl is the way to go - also if you leave the vinyl on the mat after weeding it and transfer it to your transfer tape while still on the mat it works way better.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this video! This was simple to understand and I love the way you explained everything. I am new to this so I just wanted to thank you this was a huge help to me in understanding how to layer!
This is a good hack: Turn around your decal with the transfer tape and rub the back side to get a stronger grip onto the transfer tape. This way, the decal will stick onto the transfer tape better.
If you want to line the pineapple up perfectly you can change it's color and line it up directly over the original and you can see better where to line it up. Okay let me go back because I was talking 🙂🙂🙂 great video!!
This video made it much simpler for me, even though I have to do more work duplicating. That's ok! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I'm definitely hitting subscribe 👍🏻
Hi, if you haven't gotten an answer on a good transfer tape yet, I use Orcal's transfer tape and I have never had any issues with the vinyl not sticking to it.
Kayla, Thank you sooo much!!!! I've been trying to figure this out and the registration marks make perfect sense. I have the same problem usually with transfer tape, but the best I've found was Siser brand, but even it has problems with some vinyl.

Kayla's Cricut Creations did you have to put anything over vinyl to protect from dishwasher? I may have missed it if you mentioned that. Thank you!
@@adairbrowne9628 it sounds like that particular vinyl is considered permanent so it's more durable in the wash.
Kayla's Cricut Creations do you have a way of showing how to do this on an iPad? I can’t find how to crop the image
Kayla's Cricut Creations Thank you for making this video! It was very helpful as I am learning how to use my cricut machine. I subbed to your channel. You rock!

Me too...
Thank you for the pace at which you explained each part of the layering. First time I've seen anyone explain the registration marks. Thank you again!
I just bought a Cricut for my man stuff but wanted to make something like this for my wife for her birthday. Thank you! I also like those little registration bars. It seems like a really easy and simple way to make my life...well easy and simple. Thanks!

I have watched a dozen tutorials and not one showed me the process like this! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!
VERY helpful!!! I've had a Cricut for about a week and have been so confused, I am so glad I found your channel. Thank YOU!
One of the best instructional videos I've ever viewed. Bravo.
I love how you explain things please never stop teaching I still have hope because of you lol
Thanks for this. Only wish you had explained the registration marks when you put them in, made sense once I saw what they were actually for. By far the best video I’ve come across on layering vinyl!
Genius !
Me too! I was so confused at first but that is absolutely amazing! I never would have thought of that!
I googled "what are registration marks" at that part haha
What are they for??
@@izabellaseabourn9078 they help you place the layers in the correct position. You can use different shapes.
Thank you for the step-by-step demonstration. I'm going to use registration marks, which are new to me and seem like a great way to keep everything aligned. I've watched this video several times. It's one of the most helpful that I've found. Thank you.
I now understand how to use registration marks. This opens a whole new world of things for me. Thank you so much.
Thank you for making your videos at just the right pace. As a Cricut newbie I found this incredibly helpful for learning how to do multi color vinyl projects.
Siser transfer tape is great! You won’t have any of that trouble. I use it with oracle 651.
Ugh!!! Thank you so much! I would have been struggling for ages trying to figure out how to do this. Such relief!
I've been looking for a simple answer to this question, and you delivered! Thank you so much!
ahhh, so glad i found this video!!! trying my first different color decal today. the registration mark thing is GENIUS!

I thought that I was the only one who fought to get their image to stick to the transfer tape. In most tutorials they make it seem so easy.
I know, is not easy

I find that different vinyls transfer differently some transfer so easily and others I struggle for so long!
I like to use my thumb and really rub it, the heat helps the transfer tape stick to the vinyl.
Very very helpful. Just got my cricut this week.

Go with gravity. Put the tape in then turn it over the vinyl should be facing you. Peel it at a shape angle slowly. It helps.
not sure if you are still having trouble getting the transfer tape to stick to the vinyl or not but i have found it to work better if once you have the transfer tape on the front of the image if you flip it over and scrap the back of the vinyl paper it helps it transfer the vinyl better

Love the trick of the registration marks to line up perfectly. Very pretty!

When you lay the transfer take down make sure to scrape the front AND BACK and it should make it easier, also I heard but haven’t tried the PressNSeal Saran Wrap works well too.
Yes, I love using contour. I just duplicate the image and contour each one for my different colored layers.
Very helpful video, I think the only thing I'm going to change is putting the registration marks at the top instead of the bottom to save vinyl! Thanks!
I just experimented with clear packing tape and it worked great. I used the duck brand.

Love your videos! They are so easy to understand without confusion. Ty 😊
Thank you!! I'm so glad!! :)
You’re welcome and again, thank you very much. 😊
Love this idea and very well don’t tutorial!! Thank you
This was the best most helpful design space tutorial ever! Thank you!
I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this video! This was simple to understand and I love the way you explained everything. I am new to this so I just wanted to thank you this was a huge help to me in understanding how to layer!
Thank you for this! It's very helpful and I learned a lot! The design is adorable! I might need to make a tumbler like this for me!
Great tutorial, this really helped me out with making Christmas presents for people. 😊
What vinyl is this? Brand wise I mean. It peels soooo easy, I love it!
Very Cool. Thanks For Sharing! I’m Not That Advanced… But I Can Give It A Shot! Always Wondered How It Was Done! 😊
this was the best tutorial it helped me alot ,thanks!
Hi there! I have found that if you till the paper with the vinyl from the top down it comes up so much easier on the transfer tape
I will use the registration make. They make it simple!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
This is a good hack:
Turn around your decal with the transfer tape and rub the back side to get a stronger grip onto the transfer tape. This way, the decal will stick onto the transfer tape better.
Thanks so much for this! Was very easy to follow along with and I did it on my first try!
Im brand new to the cricut. you mention your looking for a good transfer tape. I tried clear packing tape. works wonders and its cheap.
great video I have watched many this so far seems the easiest to follow thanks
Use a wooden stick, such as a popsicle stick to run over the transfer tape! Comes off like a charm 😊
Sejla Bistrica thank you so much for the tip! :) I’ll give it a try!
omfgggg u just saved me a bunch it was so easy to fallow your layering
If you want to line the pineapple up perfectly you can change it's color and line it up directly over the original and you can see better where to line it up. Okay let me go back because I was talking 🙂🙂🙂 great video!!
Craftables transfer tape is da bomb!
wowow very nice and very smart i love it thank you so much for sharing
Thank you ! Great video explaining the layers 🥰

Very easy to understand . Thanks
The transfer tape from hobbycraft is really good
expressions Vinyl transfer tape is awesome! I tried different ones and that is by far the best one I've come across, i have some back ups
KidK G thank you!! I’ve heard really good things about expression vinyl. I’ll have to give it a try :)
