Good luck on fixing it. I replaced a lot of the engine parts on my old 78 Chevy van. I hope the cam don't give out like yours did. Keep up the great work and good luck with it.
If you go back to your video when you put the intake on it. It had a weak hole when it was cranking over. You could hear the difference in the cranking cadence.
@@area_61 just my experience, it was getting cold, 20w/50 seemed a bit much. Went to a 10/30... and after about 500 miles, cam was done. Over the last 2 years I'm very careful with oil in flat tappet situations.
Looking forward to the next one. So cool that you can fix your own stuff.
I love these old van videos!! 👏 👏

Had to replace the camshaft & lifters on my 1977 Vandura after 200 thousand miles.

Couldn't stop laughing at ghost fan 😅
You sir earned a sub not just vause of the videos but also cause your a fellow ohioin lol
I appreciate it. Thanks
If I was you, I would change the timing chain to you got to take it off anyway
Advance timing or its accelerator pump
Accelerator pump....👍
I originally thought that too. But its a brand new carb, and it definitely sounded like a mechanical issue.
Cam wiped? Just guessing because mine started popping when the cam wiped.
Oohhhhh yeah that's not good ... Your lifters should definitely be moving
Oil is critical part of this. Good oil is a good idea if you don't want to do the cam 11 times
I always run quality oil filters and high zinc oil in my older toys. But I can't vouch for the previous owners. Thanks for watching!

What is the size tire ?
@@daviddenis2379 245/60r15 front, 295/50r15 rear
Bet it was just a loose connection between the steering wheel and the driver seat
I'm going to guess bad rocker.exaust.
