Hello, it was really cool meeting you at Versus Arcade Bar in Boston. Brand new to the Pokemon Creation scene, but this video really resonated with me if I plan to pursue it further. For the Bug and Dragon Types, I’d have gone with a bug zapper and a barbecue grill respectively.
For bug I think it could be maybe something a bit glitchy or like a microphone bug
bug could be a silk spinner thingy

The Electric type is already covered, the Pokedex and Phone forms are pure electric type. They just don't have the ability to attack.

Honestly a cool concept for a Rotom Bug type would be the computer chips and old school transistors because of their tiny bug like designs. Imagine like Rotom possessing an old circuit board full of old transistors and the chips act like a little Rotom Colony.

I think the normal type being a cd player would be cool, it could even have a new move called shuffle where it shuffles TM disks inside itself and preforms a randomised move.

An electric steel rotom would be super good. With levitate, it’s defensive utility would be outstanding maybe if it got a couple useful moves for it

My take on the bug type would be one of those lamps that lure and kill mosquitos

When I was a kid I thought of a fighting type rotor as an egg beater, and a dark type one as an internet server
Nah internet servers would be poison/toxic type
Well none of my entries made it but atleast it helped me come up with 2 new additions to my region.
It was interesting to see how different every artist interpreted the "prompts" in an own and unique way.
For ground, my first thought was a seismograph that had access to a lot of needle-based moves. Also a concept for a poison type rotom: a vape pen.
I think a cool Electric Ghost Type rotom form would be a Rotom in a Tazer. I know Rotom is Electric Ghost by default, but unlike any of its other forms, using Rotom's base form is effectively nerfing yourself, as Rotom's stats are only boosted when in one of the appliances. Rotom in a Tazer would make sense if, unlike Rotom's other forms, the Rotom does not become the Tazer itself, but rather taking the place of the electricity coming out of the Tazer, which would allow it to keep itself in a physically formless state, thus keeping its Ghost typing.
Okay but let's say the room needs to posses a ghost related thing to keep the ghost type

@@dubstepbeecorsi6892 I personally believe its ghost typing comes from its lack of a physical form, hence why I insisted on it possessing someing that generates electricity, hence increasing its intangible electric body. Possessing a Halloween decoration is like possessing a dragon robot to get dragon type, or a bug robot to get bug type. Kinda lazy ngl (no offence)

Dragon or Fairy type (or a combo of the two) for Rotom : a Spyro video game 🎮 Spyro is a dragon who’s friends with fairies in fact they actually made one level in Spyro the Dragon, (OG 1998 remade in Reignited 2018) High Caves, a tutorial on Supercharging with 3 fairies catching you if you fall so you don’t loose lives

I could see a smoke machine working for the poison type too. Bug should be a bug zapper and ground should be a drill.
As a non-ambulatory wheelchair user, whenever the ‘which pokemon would you want to have irl’ question comes up, my answer is always Rotom! There are so many things it could possess to make my world more accessible, including my chair itself (it’s an electric chair, but that does fuck all for getting past sidewalk splits, steps, curbs, etc. - its less able to get past much smaller obstacles than a manual chair.)
I love this video so much, and Rotom is so under appreciated!

Rotom Spirit box. Possessing a spirit box would work pretty well I think, Rotom would be it’s power source and possessing the box would allow Rotom to keep its Ghost type, and thus be able to learn Ghost-type moves!
For the Fairy Type, I had an idea of Rotom Vanity or Rotom Mirror. Fairies are associated with beauty as well as small magical beings and what comes with beauty? Vanity! A vanity mirror is a mirror with lights all around it and I like the idea of Rotom being able to use dazzling gleam because of the lights surrounding it and even the reflection in its mirror.

For the Bug Type, I had an idea of Rotom Hive. The Hive is a central heating unit that heats your house. I like the idea of Rotom possessing it and instead of emitting heat, it emits pheromones to attract small bugs. I love the wordplay of Hive being a heating unit and not an actual bee Hive 😌

Rock-type Rotom would definitely be a grindle stone. After all, it doesn't crush stones, it uses them.
As a Ground-type, one variant could be a sanding machine. I mean, it has a tape covered with super-hard sand, what's not to like here?
And for Steel-type, I see an angle grinder. They are commonly used to cut metal, after all.
But that's not all: the Steel type would have a Gigantamax form, which may fit even more. A huge industrial pneumatic hammer right from the forge shop!
A fun Bug type Rotom could be a listening device, known as the slang term 'bug'. I envision its arms turning into lightning shaped legs and antenna
I’d do a lamp for Bug type, because moths go towards lamps so maybe rotom could use the lamp to possess moths and make thyme do its bidding, maybe he can learn vespiquen’s signature order moves

It'd be cool if there was a Honchkrow of every type, based off of different hats. For the pokemon region I want to do based off Canada, he'd be wearing a toque, with his chest puff resembling like a parka. So, ice/flying

The Beetle version of rotom might actually make sense in the next game because if you look close enough in the trailer for Scarlet & Violet the Pokemon Centers look like Gas Stations
For the bug type, there is kind of machine that removes bugs, my family has one for Moscitos
the fairy type i came up with for rotom is a gumball machine form aka rogum. it’ll be able to shoot moon blast up to 3-5 times per turn. the bug type is an electric bug zapper thing that looks like a tennis racket(idk what it’s called)
Fairy Light rotom was a slam dunk in my eyes. It's almost too perfect

Rotom ghost could be a cool military stealth drone (like dragapult). Electric steel or fighting should be the toy robot from rotom lore
I refuse to believe the fighting type wouldn't be an old Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots game, with all the animations to reference how they attack other robots.
When the phone scan the Pokédex, it was shown to be pure electric type. It also roasted the thing lol

I like a camera drone for bug type.
Swiveling propellers would allow it to fly more like a bug than a bird; it could zip around in mid-air and hover in one place, rather than gliding and catching air currents. The sound of the propellers could also be used as an excuse to teach it Bug Buzz, as the rapid movement of the blades could be like the buzzing wings of an insect.
The flash of the camera could be used to light up a room, or send signals. This would let it use moves like Signal Beam or Tail Glow, by mimicking the way fireflies use their lights.
It would be a more Special focused bug type. But there could be room to justify moves like Lunge or First Impression, with the way it moves.
Also, “drone” is a term that comes from comparing these flying machines to bugs. I think a camera drone would let Rotom use bug-like actions, and fit their whole deal.
I feel like TV form for Rotom should keep its Ghost type. Rotom forms have better stats, so that would be a boost + it would fit the lore of it being usually catchable by interacting with old TVs + "Ring" reference.
Psychic type relates to psychic powers and light, so a lamp would fit probably fit it better. But also radio or computer or even Rotom Dex would perfectly fit it as well thanks to hypnosis and knowledge themes.
Also for all the other forms - I feel like building concept out of the moves it will get (because every Rotom get signature move to use other forms can't learn) is the smart idea to do. That's why I feel like we should look at the moves. Rotom got mostly the super hard hitting moves with a negative effect like Overheat or Blizzard (low accuracy). The only exception being Fan Form, which actually has weaker Hax move (which I think is because we didn't have Hurricane back then and that's the strongest Flying move in Gen 5).
Knowing that we could assume that other moves would try to follow that idea, unless they would add new moves.
So Bug Type Rotom probably would have Bug Buzz, because X-Scissor and Megahorn are physical and not special moves. Which makes the Bug type Rotom more inclined to be sound based. A car would fit, radio, maybe even bug lure light, which also buzzes from bad quality bulb and all the bugs flying around.
All the concepts were pretty cool!
Honestly love shop vac rotom. If Electric ground wasn't used with that another option I would love to see is Rotom Coffee Maker. It can have a signature move of Muddy Water too despite it being a water type move

I remember that I drew a Switch Rotom a few years ago, but I can’t remember what type it was. I remember what I did was the Rotom had possessed a pair of Joy Cons, and instead of the little aura around the Rotom being the type, one side was red and the other was blue.
I like the rotom form and this will be great for new forms
I’m surprised more of these aren’t designed around the move it learns. For example, you can make Bug Rotom a Router and it gets Signal Beam. The antennae of the router also makes it look like a bug which is important.

I think one of the fighting types got glossed over a bit quickly, since a word pun was missed. One of the rotoms had possesed a controller for games, commonly known as a fight stick.
The rotom dex was shown to be pure electric in the anime.
for the videogame controllers for fighting type, one of then was a “fight stick” which is the portable arcade machine looking controller to play fighting games

Rotom Electric/Ghost (appliance form), could posses a house of terror, or a radio too (maybe making at play that normal radio is normal, but sometimes they can become ghost type instead as rotom is a ghost in the end, and ghost are apparently heard trough radiowaves.)
Rotom pure ghost could be possesing mannequins, puppets or other non-electric stuff as a "lost rotom" that has given in to its ghostly regrets or something.
Love the rotom dragon train. For bug I think a rc plane, drone, or helicopter could be cool, and there be a swarm of them
Funny thing about bug Rotom is the sewing machine is the only bug idea I've heard where Bug Buzz wouldn't make sense, Bug Buzz being the strongest special Bug move.
In the video, we see a buzz saw and a car, both pretty loud, and there's other ideas like a Roomba and Drone, which make noise with their motors, and a bug zapper, which emit a faint buzzing sound from the high powered electricity its giving out.
Fighting rotom should've been those arcade games that measure your strength
Base Rotom is already Electric/Ghost, but if it kept this typing for a form, I'd choose a fog machine. The ones used on Halloween to make the spooky fog effect.
For the Steel Type, It is a Rice Cooker. And the Dark Type it is an old Cassette Tape. And the Poison Type it is a Oil Diffuser or a Sent Machine. And the Fighting Type it is a PlayStation.
I saw a fan pic of a hair dryer rotom as the dragon type and I thought that would work really well
For ghost if you did it I would’ve gone with a vase following the old, spooky, antique theme of the ghost typing as vases are normally an antique of somebody’s

I personally always thought of some type of flashlight for a Steel type Rotom, probably because of Flash Cannon being the only common Special category Steel type move that can have some type of tech for it.
The other Special Steel moves are Mirror Shot(which I can't think of any tech for that wouldn't also allow for Flash Cannon), Doom Desire(which is Jirachi's signature so that's a no), Steel Beam(no tech for it), and the Special version of Corkscrew Crash(which is a Z-Move so that's a no). I limited myself to the Special moves for any Rotom forms I see because that is how all the current Rotom forms are, gaining more bulk and Special Attack and are given a new Special move of that type(Hydro Pump, Overheat, Leaf Storm, Blizzard, Air Slash).
