In this video I will be showing you some tips & tricks I found helpful when it comes to decorating your vivarium in Hogwarts Legacy on console ✨I am playing on PC with a reshade and the sword on my back is a mod which I will leave the link for down below. 5:50 it REALLY a shame we cannot overlape objects on consoles becsuase pieces do not snap very well.
The space between the stairs totally break the illusion. Devs should have thought about it!
I agree with you on the stairs. If they were going to let us place one thing close together it should've been those stairs 😭 At least outside of that, there are ways to make spaces look less empty and bare. But unfortunately for the stairs those are a little harder to cover up 😅 I hope this video still helps either way though :)
@@LucidDiamondwell I mean to be fair they could also let place stuff against actual walls for stuff that’s not wall hangings aka stuff like desks and potion stations should be up against walls but clearly that’s also hard to do as well since we only place stuff in certain spots
Not being much of a decorator i didnt really envision myself using fhese options but seeing how you've put this stuff together has made me reconsider. This looks so nice
Now, this is what I am looking for. Also, this makes me want to complain a lot more to the dev to make sure they do a much better job for Hogwarts Legacy 2. It just nitpicking. But perfectionist is perfectionist for a great game, which is just a cherry on top, I do believe everyone would agree with it. I know I would. Again, it is still missing the "Photo Mode."
Glad this video helped you out more! 😁 You can definitely see some flaws in the building system once you’ve seen what you can do with and without item placement restrictions. They should’ve let us have more leeway with that at least. Also I was really surprised they didn’t add a photo mode because of how pretty the game is :(
@RandomZeroGravity:there’s nothing wrong with telling the devs what they should fix. they should also give us more than 12 spots in the 4 vivariums if we are only gonna be allowed 4 different species of animals at one time while they are doing different colors of certain animals. There is stuff the devs should know. I wouldn’t really calling it nitpicking for certain stuff some stuffs yes but other stuff would just be someone wanting something to be different or better than it is which isn’t exactly nitpicking it’s only nitpicking if someone feels like being a jerk rather then giving the devs helpful ideas

Wonderful, I couldn't have imagined it looking as awesome as what you've created here. I haven't touched my vivariums yet just left the beasts to roam, but this has definitely given me some much needed inspiration for mine. Thank you! 🙂

This is just amazing. The outside vivariums were something I couldn't figure out how to do. But know you've showed me without mods I can use this as a baseline and actually make something good. Obviously no where near your level of creativity and design but still I will give it a fair shot

Nice designs! I like to keep ny vivariums as much natural as possible, adding more natural elements and some constructions like ruins. But your video gave me some ideas for my grassfield one (the one I like to make more "habitable").

This was some great insight into the console version, I hate the item placement restrictions because I’m so picky and want to be such a perfectionist and make it look nice and smooth. I like what you did though and am gonna try my own, thanks!
I'm glad I was able to help! :) And I understand, I am the same way. That's why I've used a mod for all my builds so far because I knew I could make something better if I could just get rid of the placement restrictions😅 I hope you have fun building yours!

@@AverageGamer28 It always takes me forever to figure out a design I like/want to create. So it's ok if you don't have something you like right now, just keep working on it! Rearranging items and playing around with what looks good where is what I usually do for the first few hours of any build I do just so I can see all the possibilities of what I can make it look like :)

Love this addition Lucid I was going to suggest it since lots of HL players I found played on PC and u were right, overlapping makes it more challenging to create realistic scenes but thanks for the video guide. I cant wait to get started on my maze project now that all is left for me is to finish finding all the treasure chests

I saw someone use bushes to make the gaps in the stone fence less obvious and it looks way more natural than the hedges. You’ve got good tips too
Thank you! I cover that a little in this video and also in my other video I made for pc players. The hedges weren't necessarily to cover up the spaces in between the fence, it's more of a decorative thing I like to do!
This video motivated me to customize my vivariums I spent so much time customizing the room of requirement I’m proud of the results now I’m just saving up moonstone for one vivariums rinse and repeat until I complete them all I want my beasts to have a party while I’m away collecting shiny beasts for the collection
I’m glad I could motivate you! 🥰 I saved my Room of Requirement for last so I’m currently working on it but I’m finding it harder to decorate that rather than the Vivariums 😭
@@LucidDiamond dam I feel that it is a little more tight and lack of space but idk for me I found it easier just because of the layouts you don’t really have to add tiles or any floor stuff just basically the objects and pretty much anything that grants you materials plus every room of requirement looks 100x better with that huge ass graphorn statue somewhere in it 😂

Did you finish all the main/side quests before building? So you can have all the collections available?
Thank you! 🥰 I did finish the main quest and a majority of the side quests yes, but I think all of the building items you can find in collection chests around the map! :)

You’re welcome! 🥰 and they shouldn’t be limited no, I believe everyone has access to these pieces. But if you go into your Vivarium and use the conjuration spell, go to your building pieces and see if you still have some locked! There should be 2 or 3 floor pieces

Can you put stuff for beasts on top of the floor pieces? Like feeder, etc.?
@majinnbuu9363:I don’t think so since we can’t overlap items or place other items on top of other items. The feeders would have to go in a spot that most likely doesn’t have a pathway in the way. This video is showing people how to do stuff without mods but the game definitely doesn’t let us overlap items so I don’t think we can place anything on top of the pathways that we place down since the pathways/floor pieces would most likely give us the problem of we can’t place anything else here because this space is already occupied problem aka like when you place down a feeder and the game says place this item in a playable spot. I think the floor pieces we most likely can’t place anything down on top of it since we can’t overlap items in the game.

Me too! :) I believe you can unlock everything you need for the Vivariums in the collection chests. They are usually the triangular shaped chests you find in locked areas that you need the spell Alohomora for! 💖

Ngl, I was surprised just how limited the building was on console. I knew it wouldn't be as good as PC, but I had assumed they would have just done a complexity or piece type limit, if there's one thing I'd like to change it would be adding connections to make fences and such more seamless
@paperghost1490:its because the game doesn’t let us overlap items and place items closer together since certain items take up a certain amount of space in the game we can’t do fences and other items closer together because then the items would be overlapping and the game doesn’t allow overlapping
what mod are you using or how are you getting the objects placed inside to overlap?
I am not using any mods in this video, but I have another video similar to this I made with mods and I used one called Room of Requirement Upgrado :) You can only overlap the items with mods, but if you're on console I found the only thing you can overlap is bushes (sort of)

At first I was like wait it's in the game, but only for people who got the "Dark Arts" Pack they came out with for preorder I believe 😭 You can still buy the pack though I think if you want :)

I don't no :( But all of the items can be found in the collection chests which are usually in buildings that have the lock on them. You will need the Alohomora spell unlocked to get into those buildings :)
Just finished all the collections on the map, and by then, you will have 100% everything and have all the decorations.
The fact you can't put the "tower spire" on top of the "tower" drives me nuts.

The vivarium itself stays the same size! But the Room of Requirement does extend as you progress through the story. I made this video for console players so if you're playing on console your vivarium should look the same :)

I just wish it didn't take so long to unlock stuff, I've put a good bit of hours into looking for stuff and don't have paths, bushes or trees or much of anything really :/
I agree it does take a while for sure. I wouldn’t mind grinding to unlock some items but I feel like basic stuff like trees and bushes they should’ve just included as accessible items from the beginning 😭
I've seen some crazy Vivariums built by the gaming community but they forget that these are places for the animals and not for the protagonist. So as long as they get a good supply of food and Toy Box, they should be fine in their empty enclosure. I've never understood why we have these elaborate outdoor items that can cause pathing issues for the animals, just get in the way of good things. 🙂
Because it's fun to build and gets the creative juices flowing! I've spent hours building in my vivariums and all of them are places where the animals can roam. I made one a bird sanctuary and it's so cool with all the different species of birds and my prize phoenix flying about the place. I like to climb up on my castle courtyard build and watch all the birds flying around. It's very relaxing and peaceful! I used the Scottish highlands vivarium for the bird atrium.

I think most of the build items are in the collection chests, those triangular shaped chests you usually find in locked areas! Don't quote me though but I'm pretty sure those are the chests you wanna look for :)

I was so heartbroken to realize how horrible the placement restrictions are on console, because I bought myself a ps5 specifically for hogwarts legacy and now I wish I had just bought the game for pc :(
this helps a little bit, but I really, really hope that the game will get an update that removes most, if not all of the placement restrictions for console players... I've never been so disappointed with a game.
they advertised the customisation and personalisation options and I was so excited for it all, and then to finally get my vivarium and to find out that I can't even really use the building pieces because they never slot together to actually create a uniform building? I was devistated. Still am, I guess.
I don't understand how they designed all these assets that want to fit together like blocks.... But then don't let them fit together....

the devs definitely should at least let us overlap or at least connect the building pieces.. you make everything look great but if it is called building pieces they should at least connect or snap together and not have holes in the middle..
I've almost unlocked the entire world in the game, and I still have almost no building pieces - no cottages, no tents, no walls, no tress or plants of any kind. I'm already level 33. Where the hell are the chest with all these things in them?

@@LucidDiamond oh yeah you did, good tutorial though, i was commenting on your video to see if you have a discord, i had some design ideas to share and needed your input. Also, i've been sending few people here who asked about mods and how to build it on PC.
They should really remove A LOT of the building restrictions. It makes no sense so put this stuff in the game and restrict you from using it in unique ways.
I totally agree! I expected us to be able to place the building pieces wherever because that would give us the most opportunity to build something cool, but when I saw they had item placement restrictions that was a bummer 😭

I have been trying my hardest to figure out how to put the tower spire on top of the tower base. Ugh why.
Begs the question: why in the world are there tower toppers when none of the pieces can be stacked. 🤔

@@demigodhades4506 I would agree with that! The creatures/beasts may be minor to some people but I think they play a big part in really making the experience more immersive and just overall fun to play and get lost in :)

Building on consoles just absolutely sucks. Just stick to the beast items, paths, bushes and trees etc as you can make pretty nice areas still and leave the building blocks untill they decide to make bulding actually make sense and not goofy on console.

I do prefer your PC version though.
I play on console and because of the gaps between the parts, that I think it look CRAP, I leave the Vivarium's blank apart from some plants/Tree's to camouflage/hide the feeding station and breeding pens.
It still bugs me that the baby animals NEVER grow up and that you get the same products from them as you do the adult ones.
