I totally agree with you.. I am going through the opposite… I was always thin then about 10 years ago I got really sick and have been putting on weight ever since. I am now 100 pounds heavier than I was. I’ve noticed that people look at me differently. I was always insecure but now I don’t even want to go or do the things I used to because of my weight. I don’t want anyone to see me.. I wish people would see people for who they are on the inside. No matter how we look we all bleed the same. God loves us and that’s what is important. I’m proud of you and am so happy for you but you will always be beautiful because of who you are not what you weigh ❤

I personally think there is way too much focus on being a certain weight and having a certain body image created by society. We all are different and what weight works for one person doesn’t work for everyone. And when it comes to food and dieting, think some restrict way too much because like I said too much focus on omg if I don’t look a certain way it’s horrifying.

Just a word of encouragement, its still really new for people so they comment on it. You have been dealing with it for a while but the outside world is still shocked. It is hard to change our minds, bodies, lifestyles, etc. I think others recognize this and are amazed when someone actually accomplishes it. Keep being you and eventually people will see you as you are and not just as someone that has lost weight. I hope that helps.

I have gained and lost weight throughout my adult life of living independently. It has happened because of not having the proper systems and accountability in place. Now I am maintaining and I know that systems in place are life long even when my mom is not around someone else will take her place. I don’t feel like people necessarily judged me when I was bigger but I had a lot of people in my life who were either friends or family and most of them were not helpful or supportive. They don’t understand the disability I have and how when things go off track it’s because of the syndrome taking over and I can’t control it. I have learned to keep my community very small and have people who see the person I am passed my disability. The other people if they are family I only have an interaction with them on my terms.

It might give you a chance to say to people, thank you, now I can enjoy my hobbies. That way you are directing them away from the weight loss.

We sometimes think that we are saying what someone wants or needs to hear. Honestly we are all doing the best we can. Who knows what to say anymore? I remember losing 10 lbs. and just hoping someone could tell but it took 20 or more before anyone said anything. It was so frustrating. Not that we do it for people to notice but it’s hard work to lose weight and I guess when someone notices it’s like one of the rewards. We want people to notice, we don’t want people to notice 😂. Sometimes I don’t think we even know what we want. I tell you what I want. I want to be able to eat whatever I want like those Tru Fru chocolate dipped strawberries and not gain weight but it’ll never happen 😂.

Loved this talk! A great reminder- currently almost to my goal weight but the reminder that we’re more than a # on the scale was much needed. 🩷

I am in my 40’s now and I am 5’5 tall and weight 100 pounds. Fit, muscular and thin my whole life. People skinny shame me, are jealous of me because Iift strength weights, care about my body, walk, jog eat relatively healthy etc…. America is cruel to us thinner framed 40 middle aged people. It’s hard having the fit, flexible able body. I feel good physically, I eat well, it’s a tough road being at a lower weight spectrum, which is normal for me and my human body. You can never please everyone, people need to Never judge, it’s obvious.
