The way you cut the tip at the end was super sketch. I would recommend using a hand saw at the end.

There is a method to doing that with a spindle gouge. The lathe is spinning at the slowest setting and the worse that would happen is it would fall off or scrape on the tool rest. Very little danger though. Thanks for watching!

i wouldn't call it trash art, it came out really cool
