  • In January, shortly after hundreds of millimetres of rainfall hit parts of the Eyre Peninsula causing severe damage, Grain Producers SA met with impacted growers. While the rainfall set many growers up with excellent subsoil moisture, the damage to paddocks and infrastructure from the heavy falls was extensive in some areas.
With funding support from the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, GPSA arranged a post seeding opportunity for farmers to tour properties and talk about measures they had taken to fix the sweeping erosion, sand deposition, pools of water and damage to fences and other infrastructure. GPSA teamed up with the Buckleboo Farm Improvement Group and Tuckey Ag Bureau for two days of farm tours in July 2022.
