    Before performing any work, always be sure to read and follow all safety precautions as they are outlined in the instruction manual. In this video, we will demonstrate how to achieve the desired set point and test for regulator lockup on the Emerson Fisher 1098-EGR. Here we have the Emerson Fisher 1098-EGR with a size 40 actuator and a 6351 pilot and today we're going to be discussing how we can set this regulator in the field and how we can test for adequate lock-up pressure. Our system has 20 psi on the inlet represented by our red line here going through our filter and through our pilot. We also have a sensing line going through the bonnet and is represented by a blue line here connected downstream. Finally, on the exit of our pilot we have a green loading line which connects to the underside of our size 40 actuator and determines whether the valve is going to be open or closed. Now anytime I'm setting a regulator in the field, I always want to start with a little bit of flow on the outlet. As the flow begins, you'll start to hear a hiss and your downstream gauge will drop now. When I'm setting the regulator in the field, I want to grab some kind of tool like a wrench, unscrew the adjusting cap on my 6351 pilot, and adjust my setpoint from here. Now if i want the pressure downstream to increase, I need to drive the adjusting screw in clockwise to put more pressure on the pilot's diaphragm as I'll demonstrate here. As you do this, watch the gauge downstream until it reaches your desired set point. In this case let's say 6 psi. Now the opposite is true if I want to decrease my set point, I want to back the adjusting screw out and decrease the pressure that i am putting on my diaphragm. As I'll demonstrate here, I will turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until I reach my desired set point, let's say just below 3 psi. And there we have it. Now testing for adequate lock-up pressure is just as easy as setting the regulator. First, you want to find some kind of shutoff valve downstream and slowly close that until no more flow is flowing through the regulator. As you will see, the gauge will slightly increase its downstream pressure sensing. And for a pilot operated regulator, just above the set point is very accurate and is considered to be adequate lockup pressure.     Is there any device that can connected to the pilot of regulator and as a result the pressure may reduce and increase automatically during peak and off-peak hours
