VW actually has something called a "wiper service position" which makes the wipers stop on the end of their stroke. When the wiper blade is vertical, it is easier to replace. You need to start the car, turn it off, then push down on the wiper stalk. The wiper blades will automatically come up and stop. After this, the steps you show are the same.
Vansh, yes this there is a wiper service position, it's just so hard to cover everything in one video, I did make a follow up video that shows how to engage wiper service position in Audi, Porsche, and vw. _Randomfix

Your doing it wrong. You put key in accessory position hold wiper lever down for 2-3sec. Your wipers will go into swing and stop in an upright position making it accessible to flip out whiper to service.

If you turn the key to the "accessory position" and hit the level for the wiper blades... it'll lift the wiperblades straight up and down vertically onto the windshield.

Ok next time, Yeah I should of put into service position, LOL.
Why not turn your windshield wipers ON and pull out the keys to turn off the electricity at a point when the wipers are nearer the middle of the windshield, instead of folded close to the hood/bonnet. Also, for extra protection, put another layer under the floor mat, cardboard or anything

Pop the hood first. Then you can pull the wiper up to the vertical position then follow this video.
