Dude, the bass on a few of those grooves you were playing was killing it!

I love your style of teaching. And also dude maybe you need to do a video on what gym routine you follow because your arms are crazy

@@tHekrack23 Ha ha. Nothing fancy - classic “bro split” with weights/resistance bands, also running, football, hiking. Exact same principles as learning drums - you don’t need fancy systems, you just need to nail the basics consistently and do the work. Cheers.

What a tease you are, Barnesy! Video starts with you on real drums for a change so I'm thinking, "Oh, brilliant, he's going to give us a lesson on proper drums that sound so refreshingly good!", and just as I'm smiling and settling in to enjoy it, the fake kit shows up!
Sorry, I just have a hate/hate relationship with electronic drums, even though I know they keep the neighbours happy, and I have one myself for that very purpose (late night/ early morning playing when necessary) but they're so unfulfilling.
    So, please, don't tease!! 😊

@@rayboreham2648 Thanks for watching as always Ray. Ah, one of drumming’s age-old debates - see also matched vs trad grip, pillow in bass drum vs not, reading vs “playing by ear” etc etc etc. For me the answer is almost always that both things have their place, and that’s certainly true in this debate. Acoustic kit has feel, presence, physicality in the room - electronic has practicality for practice, sound isolation, huge sound palette (in the case of my DrumTec kit anyway) great playability. Cheers!
