This is honestly fantastic!! Got accepted to RVC last month as a first time applicant and this is such great content and perfect timing!!! Positivity and motivation is truly the key 😊😊
Love the headspace app sm! Great advice, asking for help is so underrated, I definitely struggled with that in my first few years of vet school, but realised how freeing it is when you can ask for help - and often that helps you become more efficient in studies/life.
I’m in my second semester of university and am thinking about applying to vet school. Thank you for all the advice! I’m nervous about physics and chem, but I’m determined to pass.
Hey!! Shouldve included this sorry, I used an app called Class timetable for my days. But I planned everything out in either excel, or one note, so I could see months in advance. I also hand wrote out my routine onto Kikki K diaries and monthly planners.
so helpful! also just wondering- last year I did a bit of vet student experience with my local clinic and obviously being my age I definitely wasn’t really able to pitch in and help and even had to witness a bitch spay go wrong for a vet nurse which was a little horrific!! (nonetheless it happens as awful as it is!) 😬 I just wanted to know whether you had any bad experience as a pre-pre vet at high school level? I’d really love to just get involved but unfortunately that calls for qualifications and good grades!
Yeah, i mean its definitely hard at that point because you know nothing! I had a few vets ignore me, and saw somethings go very wrong too! Dont let it discourage you - the more you learn, the better it gets 😊
Yeah it is really scary, i totally agree the money side of things is really hard. I have a huge student loan! But just trust the process, its all part of life.
I'm currently a junior in college who's majoring in general biology and applying for vet school once I graduate. What my counselors and I did was set up a plan to major in general biology and to look up the prerequisites required for the vet school I want to apply to. It's important if you know for sure that vet school is the route for you, to communicate with your counselor and have them help you set up your classes. Hope this helps :)
Also most vet schools require you to have at least 50 hours or more of work at a veterinary hospital or clinic. I recommend to gain experience by working a vet hospital or clinic too, it's extremely helpful
Thank you! But im more worried if I need to recap any of the highschool notes before starting the sem, or if the courses will cover them once uni starts

What do you recommend to study before starting Pre-Vet? eg. Just the highschool notes for 3 sciences?
