I grew up on dirt bikes and loved riding trails and fire break roads but stopped because when you get older it really hurts when you fall. (I grew up that if you didn’t crash or fall at least once you weren’t having fun on a ride). Your showing us a safer way to ride the trails to see the beautiful outdoors and your giving me the bug again. Keep up the videos!
I remember going scuba diving there with some air force buddies while stationed in OR during Vietnam era. There are some good rock scallops attached to that big rock in the background.
Great to see Jenny again on one of these rides. Envious of your country’s expanse, scenery and don’t forget Freedom! No wonder there was a war to secure it. Happy Independence Day trails to Ye. Long way to Kansas Dorothy. ✌️🇳🇿👍
A great ride you guys. Enjoy. Seeing that Honda CB400 x shows me how much the marque has evolved over the years. I have a 1976 CB400 which is almost showroom condition, and which has only done 9,000 miles. I also have a BMW F650 and a Honda CB650 Nighthawk. A Honda 175 caters for shopping trips to the village here in Kenya.
Port Orford Cedar (or wood sold as POC) is widely used to make arrow shafts due to the straight grain and the tendency to snap clean and blunt, rather than splinter.
Welcome to Oregon, Juan! - I think you've discovered a town that could be 100% wind powered, no problem. Happy Fourth of July, have fun, ride safe! Howdy from Portland!
Sounds like an awesome journey ahead... I've been mulling over getting a motorcycle, you've shown me a perfect set up. I look forward to finding out more, as well as seeing the sights of the historic trail. Via con Dios 😎💜
Keep up all the great content. Safe travels. Living vicariously through your channel as I recover from a major surgery. Would love to get out on a ride like your doing in the future.
Have fun and be safe. Hey, you missed the first big air attack on a brush fire in the San Bernardino mountains. Using old Norton AFB, we saw a C-130, two S-2's, two Sky Cranes, two MD-87's and a very busy fuel truck. The fire is out now.
Was nice to meet you. Juan, Jennie and Johnathan at the "One Lump or Two" coffee shop in Port Orford, just before you made this video. Have fun on your trip.
OREGON is a great place... except for a few @%$-&%$% in Portland,.. driving the Coast Hwy. is great North to South and you are on the Ocean side for the pull outs all along the way. Hello from Jacksonville, OR. by the way........ see ya at RENO next year.
Just switched my front sprocket from a 15 tooth to a 16 tooth. It significantly helped the performance of my CB500XA. First gear was just a little to deep and would spin out in the marbles and the top end in 6th is now smoother, lower rpm and less buzzy. Gas mileage has increased approximately 8 mpg and the speedometer reads 3 mph over the GPS.
Juan, to combat the wind noise simply take a sock or soft piece of cloth and slip it over the bottom 1/4” of your phone where most microphones are located. The wind noise can be quite distracting. Also the phone has a built in AGC which turns down the sensitivity when it hears wind which makes anyone near by almost impossible to hear. My friend actually cut the toe out of a sock, starts the video rolling then slides the sock over the last one or 2 inches of the phone with a rubber band around it to hold it in place. It works perfectly. You’ll be surprised how such a simple thing will make your video experience much more professional sounding.
Really appreciate your vids documenting the trip. I’m super motivated to get on my cb500x and head out, but I don’t have it rigged out with the rally raid...probably just stick to paved back roads. Look forward to more of your journey.
Juan, say hello to Jenny for me. Pat Beztilny, Edmonton Alberta Canada. Had a chance to ride and chat with her for a couple days during her Canada Trip a few years ago. Great person. Still have my Level 3 500x but just bought a 2020 Husky 701. Full Aurora Rally kit coming. Sorry Jenny and RR.😀
I’m not familiar with the TAT. I will research it. My Honda Goldwing is not the ticket. That stays on the pavement 99.9 percent of the time. May the road/trail rise up to meet you. Be safe out there. Good journey.
I do miss the coast, but, I got to know some of the locals, and Klamath Falls is a better place to be. Sorry to say I heard a disturbing mantra out there, "If it moves, shoot it, if it doesn't move, cut it down". The old timers that own that attitude are going away little by little, just don't admit to being from Ca, and thing's will be more peaceful. I have been in Oregon for 25 years, open carried all of that time, it's probably what saved me from winding up under a stump somewhere. If you ever hear the term "Stump dump", excuse yourself from the present company and exit stage left asap. It's probably why they never found Jimmy Hoffa, I bet he is under a stump in Oregon somewhere.
I must apologize for being truthful, there is no difference between good airmanship and telling the truth. Been around here long enough, I know the area and all the local hazards.
Hello hello...great to see you getting out..I've been traveling myself so have not seen much of you recent posts.love to here your thoughts on the 3 gourge dam...flooding..have a good day sir..
Anyone on the coast does the same thing, severe weather is common out there. First year in Florence for me was 130 inches of rain, everything was normal as far as the locals. Even so, very few areas were flooded, Cushman was flooded, but a check of the tide tables made that avoidable. It beats sitting in traffic all day every day.
Really would have liked to hear his explaination of the bike. Wind killed it. its not that we don/t like the wind, its that we just cant hear voices, so shut it off to another time. You can do something about the wind!
Thanks JB. If you haven't come across this rider. Check out her channel. Itchy Boots. She on her 4th Season. Extremely positive experience and interesting videos. Website: itchyboots.com
ok....hope ya find this as funny as i do i must be mildly dyslexic as i received this notification of new upload by blancolirio and read the title real quick...got super excited(normally just get excited)....made a sandwich and got a coca-cola with ice to crunch on ....sit down on my lunch break and watch...took a bite and clicked play......"This is not Fort Ord" So...reading disability or perhaps wishful thinking Happy 4th of July(Independence day for those that may not know) ladies and gentlemen
Itchy Boots has just bought a CB500, maybe she has been watching your channel. Anyway I have linked her over to this upload. ua-cam.com/video/X76p4dnagX4/v-deo.html

Great historical Coast Guard motor life boat station just around the point . Motto “ You have to go out but you don’t have to come back “

XT225 rider watching you from Cape Town South Africa.
I was there yesterday! Truck stops for showers & laundry are cheaper than motels. Hot springs even more so.

That's awesome. Trips like that clear the mind. Sharpens one's energy.
Triumph Trophy Trail. 650cc twin that was great for both, early 1970s.
Thanks for the update on your recent adventure! I’d really like to do the TAT. Really enjoy your motorcycle adventures. Ride safe my friends....
Have a good friend that lives in Port Orford, moved from Yuba City about 10 years ago...great place. Hope you go to the Coast Guard museum.
Coast Guard museum is really cool, the hike down to the old slips is gnarly though. Tour the Cape Blanco lighthouse as well!
THIS is the blancolirio content I’m here for!!!

The wind is loud and clear. Juan is louder and clearer.
Port Orford Cedar is also the best wood for archery bows.

I love Port Orford, have spent a lot of weekends there during minus tides tide pooling.
I saw the house I drywalled and painted when new as you turned
I already miss the Oroville Dam days!
safe travels Juan!! glad your having fun on your trip
Juan, if you hold a handkerchief over your cell phone you lose the wind noise.
And the picture...

Was planning the same trip.
But life got in the way.
Be safe.
Ride safe and watch out for the ones not watching out for you!
Just catching up with this. Safe travels guys.
good to hear your getting off the coast. I live here and it looks like war is about to start
Hey Juan, if you make it to Rawlins by Sunday night, I’ll see ya there.
That was different. Now I have cabin fever. Gotta plan a long drive to somewhere.

Port Orford sure has changed since I left in 1983
Congratulations on 200,000 + subscribers.
Glad you made it back ok. What happened to Jenny? Curious how you attached the camera to her helmet? Hope smooth sailing for all from here. Take care.
Thanks
Just caught up with your trip, have fun
Do have a trip map?
When the wind blows there at 90 miles per hour the just call it wind not a hurricane

Like I said. "Don't just stick to Planes"! Nerds are Us! ;) I'd be stiff as a board doing that these days.
3! 2! 1! - but you were correct only once!!! Your voice and fingers were not "compatible" 😂
Great video, as always. 👍
Good luck on TAT.
Nice..!
Getting you loud and clear in Norfolk UK ( not Virginia )

If you make it to coosbay say hi.
A tad draughty there
Enjoy yourself and have a safe time
Jenny where can I get a high fender bracket for the Cb500x?. Like Juan two threes.....
Have fun,safe trip.atb
What do you think about that bike for a 6'-2" 270 lbs guy.
What are knobby tires like on the highway?
Safe travels. Imagine you get some good sleep.
Thanks JB.

Hear ok juan
Jennie Morgan an pro ex rally racer her self, sounds good to me.
Niiiiiice!
The wind is to strong for using your camera without a wind silencer. The wind noise makes it totally uninteresting to watch and listen to.
Itchy Boots has just bought a CB500, maybe she has been watching your channel. Anyway I have linked her over to this upload.
