All Right Heather!!!! You look like you belong up there. I thought Capt. Shamus "Carney" Allen looked familiar (Jetstream/Discovery Channel-2008). The only other thing I have to say is I wish Capt Jennifer Casey could have made it out safely and the flight didn't end the way it did.
Thumbs-UP #113 I am, Thursday early morning 15 August 2019! I learned about Canada’s Snow Birds recently in an air show video in Canada where the United States Air Force Thunderbirds flying too. The woman Thunderbird #6 was teaming up with the woman Snowbird for an interview and they were both fun to listen to! I guess the woman Snowbird was not a pilot on the team yet?
I remember seeing that pilot on the tv show about the making of a pilot and qualifying for the f18...Met a cpl from that show(not the fella in this vid)at a pizza joint in halifax and they were not exactly the friendliest folk..Very dismissive..
@1:25 The ejection seat require you to pull the string manually to release the chute?! Canada seriously need to upgrade the trainer, if not, at least change the ejection seat.
Yeah, even though they're really old planes at this point, that's definitely something they should do. For all we know, it could've saved Capt. Casey's life the other day
negative on that, pilots manually pull handles first , canopy blows off , seat with pilot blows out, seat stabilizes then seat leaves pilot, and chute will automatically get deployed. There is likely manual pull handles just in the event chute doesn't deploy, no way you would have to manually pull your chute as ejections are violent and in some case people will pass out etc. good vid here from Juan via his channel. ua-cam.com/video/10Og_7sqU7s/v-deo.html
and also this "was" CAF trainer, in 2000 it was replaced by Harvard, and for those going to Hornets the Hawk. The Tutor is def an old plane, my dad flew them when i was 5, im 49 now...
They are suppose to replace the Tutor in 2026ish with likely the Hawk for Snowbirds, but that might change? even our Hornets are old and need to be replaced, our Military just doenst have the $$ sadly.... Hawk here www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/en/aircraft-current/ct-155.page
Ignore this dude, it's morons like charley that sit on their flight sim games all day and don't understand anything about aviation. Just because teams fly F16s or F18s, doesn't make them naturally "better". You clearly don't understand how much more turbulence you can experience in these smaller, slower and lighter planes, nor the hundreds of micro-adjustments on the throttles and stick they have to make every second. Add that to a 9 plane formation vs a 5 and 6 and you get a little education.
am I the only one who thinks that allowing any civilian to take over the controls while in formation, even for a couple of minutes could be extremely dangerous ?
Absolutely agree. The BA are the best of the best.....in the US Navy and Marines.....just like the Snowbirds are the best of the best in the RCAF, and the TBirds are in the USAF.
So sorry for the loss of the Snow Bird and Capt Jennifer Casey today in Kamloops BC RIP
From a fellow pilot my sincerest sympathy for the loss of one of your Snowbirds. 😢 🇨🇦
Looks like Heather Butts got to live my dream! Thanks for sharing this video.

This pilot is going to hear it from the captain afterwards when he announced that he is letting the civilian control the plane while in formation.

Dave H ,
Your children could be flying the same plane if they join the snowbird...😮
But it is non zero-zero ejection, right?
Carney
Hello commander how about you are you rest thanks
Heather I'm delayed a bit. Stay tuned ( what ever heather)
Are this equation is right?
Snowbirds should have been in f16s or f18s already.
We are the only ones that think that! 😮😂
Blue Angels > Red Arrows > Thunderbirds > Snowbirds > Me in FSX
Charley Hibschweiler You’re telling me the Snowbirds are even comparable to you in FSX? What an insult!
of course the blueangels first... ( im ironic here )
they got the best plane but thats it.
