Dude, Talk to each Companion using the Investigate option in the dialogue and each will have some sort of upgrade for you. I think 3 upgrades are crucial to surviving the final mission !

If you want to play ME3 in the future, after finishing ME2, reset Shepard's skill points and transfer the saved game state to ME3. You will then start ME3 with undistributed talent points. Otherwise, the game itself will automatically distribute game points.
Get all the ship upgrades because you will need them! Great stream 😊
Also another thing that helps is doing all of you teammates loyalty mission as well
