Yup, Kendall all right. West Kendal is west of 117 Ave & the Turnpike. South of Killian Dr is more the Falls (unincorporated) and East of US1 is City of Pinecrest. Used to work in the Falls until Hurricane Andrew hit, and closed the mall for two years or so. Macys looks like it’s falling apart. The Samurai restaurant across the street is always a great stop! I was thinking the same thing. But it's SW 88 Street. East West route that bisects Kendall and goes from the edge of the Everglades to downtown Kendall. Fairchild is in Coral Gables.
Yes, indeed! I have driven this route a few times between highway 997 & Fairchild Botanical Gardens to avoid the crazy Miami traffic and I’ve also driven the Tamiami Trail, especially westbound because it’s definitely a quicker way to get out of town compared to driving the gridlocked freeways that you have to pay to drive on.
Interesting that you didn't drive down 88th Av. This street will take you clear across the south of Miami and is a great route to get to Fairchild Botanical Gardens.
The area south of Killian Pkwy is known as Pinecrest. Kendall is considered south of Sunset Drive and north of Killian Pkwy out to Krome Ave.
I would say downtown Kendall would be on Sw 88th St Kendall drive around the area of Dadeland Mall and Baptist Hospital
Kendall doesnt really have a well defined identifiable downtown area.
