  • Apollo 13 original crew are interviewed on film to be distributed to TV networks for promotional use on 25th February 1970. The film and audio are available for download separately on the US National Archive.
This video is an attempt to synch the audio to the film so it can once again be seen "whole". The film and audio play at different speeds so this is an attempt to also re-synch the audio to the film. It is by no means perfect.
All film and audio courtesy NASA/US National Archives.

10th grade for me, 16 years old. Like everyone else, I was glued to media during the mission. Perhaps just youthful optimism, but I had no doubt they'd safely return to Earth. Great, as always LM5!
I'd be happy to see any other pre-mission interviews of any of the pioneers.

Classic & historic, thanks for finding this and uploading it. :-), cant wait for my grandson to be old enough to see Jim Lovell in this video, the man he was named after.

I was in early grammar school when Apollo 13 took place. I’m now close to my retirement from a 45 year long carrier in Navel and Commercial aviation. My desire to become an aviator was directly influenced by the Apollo missions. Thank you NASA, and all of the early space pioneers, for all of their courage, patriotism, and personal sacrifices.

I was negative 12 years old for Apollo 13. I still find much life inspiration from all things Mercury, Gemini, & Apollo.

Or what his first words on Apollo 13’s first step would have been.
