I think I have an interpretation to it Here, The Water is actually June's Thoughts. If we remember correctly the guy that held June's hand when she was grabbing a drink for her Friend didn't harm her but stared at her but he went aggressive when Mcoy interfered and Spilled water on him. I think what they meant by "Her" is actually June herself and "she will take back what was hers" is actually referring to the island, her sacred place and the people on it are wasting away on her sacred place. When the old man said "Ungrateful" it was actually June's Thoughts that made him say that, They are ungrateful to what she has given on her island.

I think so. They were being a little too silly out in the water
so they were eating and drinking so much that they were able to sink to the ocean floor?
Gotta be careful at the buffet, all that delicious food will make you sink into the ocean
