  • 1500 trees of Udupi are being felled for the National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) road-widening project.
While healthy trees along Hiriyadka to Perdoor (between Hebri and Parkala) of NH 169A were axed for the road widening, the clock is ticking for the mighty trees of Seethanadi. It is important to note, a part of the ongoing highway development project also passes through the ecologically sensitive Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary. The unwarranted development will destroy the habitats of varied wildlife species and destroy Karnataka's rich biodiversity.
Your signature can save the trees of Seethanadi and make a difference in protecting our dwindling ecology.

It's true we all know that, but it is not only in that place but even towards kudremukh from karkala and towards mudabidri also. Those days are not too far to see the disasters caused by nature like in utrakhand and many other places. So far in southern karnataka (Dakshina kannada, Udupi districts) haven't faced such things but when nature reacts there will not be any politician to stop. Where at present they fill their pockets.
