For anyone interested, the tombstone @8:43 reads "Q(uintus) Granius M(arci) F(ilius) Labeo TR(ibunus) MIL(itum) LEG(ionis) TERTIAE", which translated is, "Quintus Granius Labeo, son of Marcus, military tribune of the 3rd Legion." It has been dated to the early 1st century AD.
Bravissimo, Romano Impero!!! I'm totally impressed that you walked , or should I say marched, for over an hour without a break. No wonder you are an "Impero" 😊. Thank you so much for showing us this beautiful road. The captions are superb!!!!!! What a pleasure!!! Grazie mille!!!
Good filming! We can see the uneven and smooth and rough stone structure of the long roadway Appian Road. Thanks. I've already bought new walking shoes cushioned and great traction for anti slipping. Thanks for your videos. Love to my bloodline Italy!
I'm going there next month. My hotel is near Termini Station and I want to take a taxi to the cross road south of the tomb of Seneca. From there, I want to walk the Via Appia back towards Rome.
Amazing video! Thanks for your effort to show us this magnificent road! You've succeeded ! Congratulations ! Sou do Brasil, filhas naturalizadas italianas, morei meses no Lácio e só conheci a Via Apia nesse video. Maravilhada ❤👏👏👏👏👏
What a treat! I enjoyed every minute of the walk! The fact that you don't say anything makes it easier for me to feel like i am walking with you! Do you plan to walk from the ancient starting point of Via Appia (the no longer visible Porta Capena in the Servian Wall; but it was close to the curvature of the Circus Maximus) to the Basilica of St. Sebastian, which was the departing point in this video? If you do, we could see the Tomb of Scipios, the so-called Tomb of Geta, the Tomb of Priscilla, the small but famous church Domine Quo Vadis, and walk by the Catacombs of Callistus (which I visited many years ago), the Catacombs of Praetextatus and the Jewish Catacombs? Or you already walked this portion?
Gracias. Saludos.
Rome is beatiful in October, it seems. So are your videos. I am watching your film again; I like Via Appia very much;when I have been last time in Rome I found out there is the Day of Via Appia in May, with festivities and acces to its monument free of charges. Even the monuments closed usually open to the publics.I would like to know ot this Day of Via Appia goes on...after Covid period.

This road is MAGICAL 💜💜💜🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Very true! 😉
Thank you for this beautiful & insightful vid that gives us a phalanx eye view of this ancient road.
I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the content! 🙂
Gorgeous views, thank you for taking this walk. So very impressive.
Thanks Shamrock 🙂👍

The Appia Antica walk, if done in good weather, is a memorable walk. 🙂💖
Gracias

To think that any of this road still exist after 2300 years.
Quite amazing actually.

Ó, very romantic...
i took a horseback ride through some of this!
The horseback ride along the Appia Antica is beautiful, especially in the late afternoon. 🙂 🙂

Yes Appia Day is there again this year, on October 2nd. 🙂
I am curiouse, when you made this route? This spring?
The walk was done in late October. 🌞

Wondering if any of this damage to these ruins were done by allies bombing?
Religion and self-interest have done much more than wars.
