Honestly, both dogs and primates have a distrust of each other, besides humans of course. In India, the Monkies there went on a murder-spree of local dog populations in some areas by grabbing the pups and dropping them from high heights, with the intention being to end them. It makes sesne, people used to hunt Monkies, and thus Monkies have never gotten over the learned behaviours of distrusting dogs.

Technically everything alive reacts to stimuli, but that doesn't mean the dog had any strong feelings about the human woman.
