I am a professional truck driver and let me tell you I agree 100%. If you look at what has happened in the trucking industry they will hire anybody with a pulse because there is a lie about a driver shortage. People are not being taught how to be a truck driver anymore they are not being taught driver etiquette they are not being taught how to act on the road they're just being taught how to make a few basic Maneuvers with a truck throwing the keys and said hey good luck. We used to be considered the white Knights of the roads for a reason. Within the industry we have a term for the new breed of drivers out here they're not called truck drivers they're called steering wheel holders that's what they're taught how to do they are not taught to be truck drivers. A company i work for is doing this. They have hired loads of people (that tick a box) and they can't do the job. They did a survey asking about stuff in the company and they scored high for "diversity" and extremely LOW for work life balance and wages. What was my employers main focus after this survey? I studied electronics... 2 years, back in the late 80s. I was 57yo getting an updated DL at the DMV when the person verifying that I was a military veteran suggested that I apply for a job as an air traffic controller. I'm sure he thought, "Air Force vet should know something about ATC."
I'm now totally convinced that gov employees know only one thing: Vote Blue or lose your job.
They know nothing about the military and even less about airport operations.

The problem is they watch way too many movies. As we've all learned from the movies, anyone can land a plane as long as someone in the control tower can guide them through it.

I am a professional truck driver and let me tell you I agree 100%. If you look at what has happened in the trucking industry they will hire anybody with a pulse because there is a lie about a driver shortage. People are not being taught how to be a truck driver anymore they are not being taught driver etiquette they are not being taught how to act on the road they're just being taught how to make a few basic Maneuvers with a truck throwing the keys and said hey good luck. We used to be considered the white Knights of the roads for a reason. Within the industry we have a term for the new breed of drivers out here they're not called truck drivers they're called steering wheel holders that's what they're taught how to do they are not taught to be truck drivers. Want to know why there's more truck accidents or more planes falling out of the sky or more train derailments etcetera etcetera etcetera it's kind of obvious

A company i work for is doing this. They have hired loads of people (that tick a box) and they can't do the job. They did a survey asking about stuff in the company and they scored high for "diversity" and extremely LOW for work life balance and wages. What was my employers main focus after this survey? Ah yes Diversity. 🤦♂️

I'm a retired air traffic controller. The FAA is doing this crap as well. Only the best of the best should control airplanes. Rarely fly anymore.
