I’m going to fly out to Oregon and go for a test ride in one of these soon! I’ve got health issues and can’t take the pounding from running the Great Lakes in a traditional hulled boat anymore. Thanks for a great review, you’ve encouraged me to continue!

Looking to order one of these, want twin Yamahas with Helm Master system would you recommend 115s or 150s. Live in PNW US most cruise between islands.

Seriously considering one of these for south Florida on the Atlantic coast. What’s holding me back is the corrosion concerns. There is a 2750 review from the gulf coast and after one year there is bubbling and corrosion where the stainless rod holders are bolted to the aluminum hull. For the price of these boats i wouldn’t be happy with that 12 months in. Curious if the factory has a plan to mitigate this for boats going to warmer saltwater climates.

Hi Andy, We sell thousands of boats in warmer saltwater climates such as Northern and Western Australia and we don't have those issues, our boats are shipped with isolation gaskets between the rod holders and the hull which creates a barrier that should stop any corrosion, we also strongly recommend professional fitment of all after market electrical equipment as incorrect wiring could cause electrolysis, we also recommend cleaning the boat throughly with fresh water and salt removal products.

@@StabicraftNZ I would love to buy your Fisher 1550 for Great Lakes salmon fishing. The problem is your closest dealership is 3500km away. Do you plan to have one in Ontario or near east cost in the near future? Thank you.

@@mikey27437 Hi Mike, we are working on expanding our dealer network across North America, We are a New Zealand owned and built company, sorry there isn't one closer at this time but we will get there and everywhere else eventually!

@@StabicraftNZ looking forward, hopefully you can establish manufacturing facilities somewhere close in time too to cut on transportation cost and production backlog. Southern Ontario has lots of industrial manufacturing and skilled people. I think your 1550 fisher will be a real hit for Great Lakes fishing communities. It’s pain in the neck to pay for a bigger boat, storage and marina slip. Small boat is easy on gas, towing and storing it home. Above all it’s a safest boat for Great Lakes among smaller boats. People will be willing to pay for peace of mind. I take my 16 footer to the middle of Ontario but I had to watch for the weather. I miss a lot of days and season here is painfully short. All the best guys!

Great boat, I have the first one imported to USA and live in Oregon. I was thinking it would be a great boat for Homer, so it's good to see it actually working.

Where they make these boats in NZ,it gets really rough in the straight there, huge seas,so the proving grounds are right up there.
