I know he probably will never see this, but Rick Moranis you are my hero. You are such an awesome dude. I don't know you and you don't know me but I am so sorry for your loss and I am so proud of you for placing your kids above everything else and making sure they were always cared for. Your performances and your nature as a person have truly touched me and I am glad to say that you make me want to be a better person. As much as I would love for you to come back to T.V., if you are happy where you are, stay there man. You deserve to have a peaceful and happy life. You are awesome.
Wow! I was born in 88, and "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" and Rick Moranis were a big part of my childhood. As a kid, whenever I was staying at my grandparents or my cousins house for half or a full day, HISTK along with a bunch of Disney VHS tapes I had in a small bag and took it wherever I went. Before Jim Carrey, my childhood hero and funny guy was Rick Moranis. Those of us who were born in the 80's and grew in the 90's, Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, Honey, I Blew Up The Kid, Ghostbusters and Spaceballs were the shits! Sorry, I still haven't seen Little Shop of Horrors....shameful, I know. Moranis always came off as one of those likeable guys who has a lot of charisma and charm and had great comedic timing. Now, that I'm in my 30's, Rick is one of those larger than life legends who is deeply missed, but could understand why he stepped away from the spotlight for so long. Very curious to see what Disney is gonna do with the reboot of HISTK, and really hoping they'll do a good job. Can't really see them doing any better than the first movie, but I'm really hoping they'll do it justice, and with Rick coming out of retirement to replace his role as Wayne Szalinski is pretty cool. The 32 year old me is curious happy to see Moranis back, but the 5 year old in me is excited as hell.
“Honey I Shrunk The Kids!” “You what?!……” “I’m so sorry! It was an accident!” “Whaaaaaaatttttttt?!” “Wayne!.......Where is Adam?!” “Well I” “Who was that man in the van?! And where did this bunny come from?!” “Alright I confess I did it!” “Did what?!” “Peekaboo!” “I blew up the baby!!!!!” “Wayne!........Are we shrunk?!” “Well Honey I’m not going to lie to you.....Yes! We are!!!!!!” “Oh I get it! You thought you could outsmart me by trying your Shrink ray on the Tiki man so you could carry it around with you and I wouldn’t notice! Well guess what (pauses for a second then bursts out screaming) I noooottttttiiiiiccceeeeee!!!!!!!”
Basically to sum it all up I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of all the Honey I Shrunk The Kids!!!!!! “Oh no! Watch out!!!!!........They could step on us!!!!!!!” Yep I loved them loved them!
Just found out via Ian Thomas that Rick was a former DJ on Chum in Toronto. Mexico City probably not too many movies getting made there nowadays though. His wife died two years later and he hasn't acted much since.
I wish I could go back to this time and meet him. I did get an address where I could get his autograph. Let me know if any of you would like it and the information 😊
This was definitely his heyday. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Parenthood, and Ghostbusters II. I miss this guy so bad whenever I'm reminded he left the biz. Parenthood might be obscure to some people. Definitely recommend you check that flick out whether you got kids or not. Some of Moranis and Martin's best.
He didn't really leave the business by choice, his wife died of cancer in 1991 (at only 35) and he retired to raise his kids. Had life not dealt him such a bad hand, we probably would have seen a lot more from him.
@JohnCronin103 He retired in 1997 from the movie industry to take care of his wife who got cancer, which she ended up dying of. He then took care of his kids & raised them as a single parent, accepting only small jobs here & there. Satisfied?
I loved Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Honey I Blew Up the Kid so much when I was little! I was too young then to realize, though, that I’m super attracted to him! Wow.

Thoughts i share. Couldn't have said it better.
Rick Is a brilliant artist and an exceptional man. I am excited for him resuming his acting career after raising his kids like the legend he is.
Can't get enough of Rick, cool as they come, funny and totally present. Brilliant
We love you Rick.. come back
When his wife died, he continued to still do movies.
@@hectorlopez1069 He had a long series of box office flops in the '90s so that probably scared him off doing any more movies.
Rick needs to have his own talk show. Maybe on the net or something, he'd be so great!
Rick Moranis is a good dude, makes me sad that he lost his wife....
It's heartbreaking when you lose your wife at an early age.
a girl and a boy...they are grown up right now, and might be watching this...by the way....your dad still is a role model to me! Thank your Rick!
LEGEND RICK MORAN. LEGEND NEEDS A RETURN
Great post. Come back to movies Rick. Your fans love you.
I have so much respect for him. ❤️
I'm from Egypt and I love him so so so much

DAMNIT RICK COME BACK TO TV! (sobs)
He recently came back on The Goldbergs, only as the voice of Dark Helmet
I wish I could go back to this time and meet him. I did get an address where I could get his autograph. Let me know if any of you would like it and the information 😊
Dave's reaction to the dog joke is great.

David Michael Letterman
12 de abril de 1947
76 años.
Man, came here cause of the mint mobile commercial only to find Rick talk trash on Mexico, I’m not even Mexican but 😒
He probably just had a bad time there, that's all.
Love him, but his accent really turned Yankee back then.
How come there wasn't any walk-on music?
This clip is clearly about the guy doing sit-ups and nothing else.
Why was there no music when he walked out?
little did they know "honey kids shrunk" would become a smaysh
wow
Only here because of Trisha
@JohnCronin103 He retired in 1997 from the movie industry to take care of his wife who got cancer, which she ended up dying of. He then took care of his kids & raised them as a single parent, accepting only small jobs here & there. Satisfied?
no dislikes in this video , ould be sad that someone do the first one :P (me)
Ladies and gentlemen, Seymour Krelborn!
This was before his wife died. So sad.
He is returning
I always loved him, but I hate him for retiring.
But do you hate him for the reason he retired?
Ollie Fletcher so sad :(
Ollie Fletcher Yeah, his wife died and he wanted to be there for his kids. I respect that. Surely they're all grown up by now. COME BACK RICK!
I loved Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Honey I Blew Up the Kid so much when I was little! I was too young then to realize, though, that I’m super attracted to him! Wow.
This guy looks kinda like a clean-shaven Larry Siegel.
Honey we shrunk ourselves was the best
@bigreddrpepper I love that movie! XD Suddenly Seymour!
I think I prefer Mexico over rick moranis now.
He probably had a bad experience there, calm down.
Fnnmmgh he was so hot!
Richard for duel remake with less gety undertones
Is it just me, or does Letterman keep dismissing the stuff Rick wants to talk about?
comedic hall of fame
@mstech1 rick really knows how to make people laugh
Gone with the Wind: The of a kite
Homer Simpson voice: NERD!!!
