    What was the problem with the water truck engine?

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  3 роки тому

      We just got it back today. It was multiple issues I believe. A fuel check valve was bad on the back of the engine which caused the HEUI pump (injector pump) to go bad initially. Then when we were replacing the simple things trying to diagnose it, we didn’t get a fitting tight on the fuel tank causing it to suck air and still running bad after we fixed the other issues. All in all CAT charged us $2300 in labor for 16 hrs of diagnosing to find the loose fuel fitting… 🤦‍♂️

    Do you have a phone number for the high lift force sprayer. I’d like to call someone. I called the number on their website but no answer

    Your video won’t ever play on our smart tv , but all other videos do. We have to stream it off our phone. I cannot figure out why. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!! My husband loves your farming videos!

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  3 роки тому +1

      🤷‍♂️. They play fine on our TV and others watch it on theirs. I don’t have a clue what the problem could be.
      Does it just buffer and buffer without playing? Or do you get some kind of message saying it can’t be watched.
      All of our videos are in 4K so if your tv is locked into playing the highest resolution, your internet connection might not be good enough. Might try setting your TV to play it in 1080 or 720 under the settings

    • @tbaker6379

    I can understand the trees being a problem. But I’ll argue with you on which rig gets the better coverage. Plane will win every time with coverage on fungicide. But we do have flat ground and mesquite not trees! And power lines????? We beg the oil companies to use underground but they like there dang power lines… and then dodge well pads. Good times!
    Folks who don’t farm have no clue what it costs. None. I think it needs to be spread far and wide. We love our R sprayer. I bought one last year. Didn’t like the price! 🤣 speaking of price wait till you upgrade your picker to a CP690,,,, we run strippers, my brother and I bought a CS690 two years ago. It’s expensive but saves you money in the long run. No boll buggie and no builder.

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  3 роки тому +1

      I’m afraid I may be forced out of the cotton business when our basket picker has to be retired.
      And I’ll argue about coverage too. But regardless which way you do it, as long as disease is kept out of the field, does it really matter?

    • @peteparker7396
      @peteparker7396 3 роки тому +1

      @@griggsfarmsllc no it doesn’t matter. We are married to cotton in our area. That or peanuts. I’ve seen many used baler pickers over the last year or so, in good shape cheaper then I’ve ever seen them. Granted, the early pickers had engine problems, but the ones I’ve seen have new crate motors and are in the 280 range. We bought the CS690 with one season on it, 580 for an 8 row machine. It’s a chunk of money,,,, but we have a lot of acres and it really does save per acre at harvest time. We ran 3 8 row machines, two buggies and 2 builders. And we can still get everything covered in close to the same amount of days with one machine. You don’t have to stop and dump, wait on a buggie or builder. We eliminated three strippers and four tractors. We already have a loader with forks for hay to move the bales. The upfront cost is scary, believe me! But we traded three strippers and that helped a lot.

      @@peteparker7396 our problem is than in addition of the $250-350k price tag, probably most of them would also need another $100k of head work on them also. That’s a steep price to pay to have 500 acres of cotton every year. And that doesn’t count the $16/acre or so for wrap.
      They’re amazing machines and have revolutionized to cotton harvesting process, but you have to be big time to afford them
