Awesome! Got exactly the same camera and it's really amazing, especially for a modded wind up camera. Your image looks pin sharp even on the extended side of the gate - and very stable. Could you please share which lenses you used? Film stock is very likely Kodak Vision 3 neg (no other fresh neg stock available at the moment). Thanks for the upload. Love your footage!
Thanks a lot! Turns out the film I used outside was ASA 200, which is indoor film. I producing a short film very soon to be shot on actual outside stock, on 250 D, so I am eager to see how it turns out.
Great! Some people prefer the look of the 200T (which you used) together with an 85 or the warmer 85B filter. Of course you will lose film sensitivity and compensate. If you have enough light, you can use the 50D which is the sharpest, finest color neg stock available. With fast lenses (the stock Meteor zoom is quite fast at f/1.9) you have the added bonus of a cinematic looking narrower depth-of-field. You probably know all that, just throwing-in suggestions. Looking forward to seeing more of your great Super 16mm film footage!
awesome footage! question - a lot of people suggest taping up the camera to prevent light leaks, but the effect is so cool so I wouldn't want to get rid of them completely. did you use tape for this shot or is this the 'natural' amount of light leakage without any treatment? thanks
CECE WOLFS Be my guest, with the credit of course. And please check out the actual 3-min short film I made with this camera, also located on this page. It's called "Penelope Needs A Drink." I'm trying to get feedback and get people to know about it. Thanks!
Footage looks great! How long did the whole process take, from you shipping it to pro8mm to them shipping it back or uploading the footage for you to download it? Thanks
That footage needs to be graded, badly! I hope people don't get the wrong impression that this is what film is supposed to look like. I know it's just a test though. You got some good shots in there.
Film is supposed to look how anybody wants it to look. This is what film looks like untouched. To its credit, it still looks fantastic. So what's your problem?
@@BurnsNYC1 I don't have any problem. And no, it isn't "untouched" at all. The way that it's scanned will determine how it looks. All negative film requires some sort of color correction; there is no such thing as an "untouched image" with negative film, which was true even before digital scanning existed. A scan is nothing more than a series of digital photographs of the film stock, which will always be a re-interpretation of how the film looks, and require some correction. The fallacy of an "untouched scan" is a very common mistake with people who get into shooting film. The lab you sent it to will either scan it with a LOG tone curve which looks very flat and allows for you to do your own color/exposure correction, or they will do the color correction themselves. It looks like this footage was color-corrected by the lab already, but it's still pretty flat, and some shots are way too dark and need exposure correction. If that's the look you want, then that's fine, but be aware that you're allowing the lab to correct the footage for you under the false impression that it's the "true look" of the film, which is false.
@@BurnsNYC1 I liked your test film. It gave me a good idea on what is possible with an inexpensive camera. I also watched Penelope Needs A Drink and liked it too. I took a look @nomadben and what he has posted. Nothing special or informative there. I think his problem is a trust fund giving him a belief that his opinion is worth something. Your work provided something of value to me. His work and opinion about your film nothing. I will watch your other K-3 test and then troll nomadben a bit. Thank you
@@JR-lw8yu I don't have any problem with the film, as it's nice seeing what the K3 produces out of the lab before it's modified, but @nomadben is right at the same time.
Georgeous footage. Got a real vintage feeling.

You MUST tape up camera to prevent light leaks, film is too much money to risk it (plus you're time).
So crispy, what lens did you use?
Just what comes with krasnogorsk-3
Great video! I’m wondering, which lens did you use, and what was the mount on the camera?
