    Because of dividends, I first began investing in stocks. It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

      Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

    If you are planning for retirement Here are some key pointers. Firstly, kick-start your savings early to benefit from compounding.
    The longer your money has to grow, the better. Secondly, make the most of retirement accounts like 401(k)s and IRAs, especially if your employer offers a matching contribution
    - it's essentially free money. Thirdly, diversify your investments across different assets to mitigate risk. Think stocks, bonds, and real estate.

  • @rssharma9

    Altria is growing its FCF at only about 2.5%. At nearly 84% payout ratio, a dividend CAGR for 30 years is unsustainable. I don't think it can hit 5 or 6 or 7 million dollars in 30 years. My calculations with 9.09% dividend, dividend CAGR of 2.5% and share appreciation of 1.5% show that it will reach $336,000. Not bad, but your calculations are way off.

      I took charge of my portfolio but faced losses in 2022. Realizing the need for a change, I sought advice from a fiduciary advisor. Through restructuring and diversification with dividend stocks, ETFs, Mutual funds, and REITs, my $1.2M portfolio surged, yielding an annualized gain of 28%.

    SO if I invested 30k instead of 10k would I see the 30 year result in 10 years?

    • @Johnsmoneyadventures
      @Johnsmoneyadventures  5 місяців тому +1

      No, it would reduce the time to maybe around 14-17 years, because that's where the compounding effect takes place.
      You need to understand that compounding is not a linear relation but rather a curve.
