      You missed a great point in the video where every time Jeshua appears to someone in the OT, he is eventually recognized as Lord (of all). Melchizedek was not received this way by Abraham nor regarded that way. However gen 18 demonstrates exactly what Abraham does when Yeshuah (the real) is present. “18 1 The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.” When he was greated by Melchizedek , he did no such thing! There was not even a hint that he recognized the Melchizedek as anything more than just a man. Now read hebrews 7 that does a fine job of stating that Melchizedek was not Yeshuah.

      Read the verses in Hebrew. The Holy Spirit "morphosed" the king of righteousness, the priest of the Most High God, into the "likeness" of the Son of God...
      Shem was the patriarchal high priest of God, the position of Firstborn" received from Noah, even though Shem was not born first.
      Shem gave that blessing to Abram that day, and BTW, Shem outlived Abraham, but Abram had passed it to Isaac, Isaac to Jacob, and so on, down to Him who was to come and is High Priest of earth, after the (patriarchal) priesthood of Shem.

    God has come to earth in many forms...Melchezedek is one of them.
    Why that is so unpopular is beyond me.

    • @the_real_sans15
      @the_real_sans15 3 роки тому

      I think its unpopular because the whole book of Hebrew is about the type of Christ the earthly and the spiritual (shadow) which points to Christ. Every appearance of Jesus in human form was the reality and therefore their was no shadow of things to come. Hope this help a little brethren.

    • @dw-rh6fb
      @dw-rh6fb 3 роки тому

      @@the_real_sans15 well not really. That doesn't change anything since Jesus is the Messianic form of God. Jesus returns in His full form, and its won't be a the Lamb this time. God has lived through arks and temples as well as the Messiah, and we know this because it is expressly stated.
      So why people don't believe or even consider the possibility that Melchezedek is one of God's forms, is beyond me.

      @@dw-rh6fb hum. I would believe. but it would take the book of Hebrew out of context. If he is the reality then why explain melchisedec. Melchisedec is a "likeness" Hebrew says. A likeness of the Son of God not Son of Men. Which also points to the indestructible priesthood of Messiah. Which Hebrew say melchisedec without mother, without genealogy, having neither begining of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

    • @dw-rh6fb
      @dw-rh6fb 3 роки тому +1

      @@the_real_sans15 Melchezedek, like the Father, is a likeness to Jesus, because that "person" is Jesus and Jesus lives through that person, but they are not God in His fullness. The Messiah is, and though He came as a Lamb, He returns as the Lion we all know that He is...also.
      Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, and all forms of God have been a likeness because they are God living as that form.
      God is Jesus though, and He is the only God. The Father will never die, because the Father lives in Jesus, because of Jesus, because He is of Jesus.
      All these people, buildings, arks...are Jesus living as someone/something that isn't His real and final form.
      Jesus always was, but His final form wasn't always revealed.
      Melchezedek knew though ;)

      Melchizedek Priesthood
      Through the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood, Church leaders guide the Church and direct the preaching of the gospel throughout the world. In the ordinances of the Melchizedek Priesthood, “the power of godliness is manifest” (Doctrine and Covenants 84:20). This greater priesthood was given to Adam and has been on the earth whenever the Lord has revealed His gospel. It was taken from the earth during the Great Apostasy, but it was restored in 1829, when the Apostles Peter, James, and John conferred it upon Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery.
      “There are, in the church, two priesthoods, namely, the Melchizedek and Aaronic” (Doctrine and Covenants 107:1). The Melchizedek Priesthood, which is “after the Order of the Son of God” (Doctrine and Covenants 107:3), is the greater of these. It “holds the right of presidency, and has power and authority over all the offices in the church” (Doctrine and Covenants 107:8). It also holds “the keys of all the spiritual blessings of the church” (Doctrine and Covenants 107:18). It is named after a great high priest who lived during the time of the prophet Abraham (see Doctrine and Covenants 107:2-4; see also Alma 13:14-19).
      The offices of the Melchizedek Priesthood are Apostle, Seventy, patriarch, high priest, and elder. The President of the High Priesthood is the President of the Church (see Doctrine and Covenants 107:64-66).
      Men in the Church must be worthy Melchizedek Priesthood holders in order to receive the temple endowment and be sealed to their families for eternity. They have the authority to administer to the sick and give special blessings to family members and others. With the authorization of presiding priesthood leaders, they can bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost and ordain other worthy men to offices in the Aaronic and Melchizedek Priesthoods.
      When a man receives the Melchizedek Priesthood, he enters into the oath and covenant of the priesthood. He covenants to be faithful, magnify his calling, “give diligent heed to the words of eternal life,” and “live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God.” Those who keep this covenant will be sanctified by the Spirit and receive “all that [the] Father hath.” (See Doctrine and Covenants 84:33-44.)

      The Book of Enoch explains how God's Word says that Melchizedek had no mother, no father, nor beginning, nor end...at the end of 2 Enoch, chapter 68. He was the nephew of Noah, Nir being Noah's brother, and his mother died right before his birth, her name being Sopanim(an immaculate conception) and how the archangel Gabriel took him to Edem(Eden) during the flood...yet he shows back up in Abraham's day. His father, Nir was one of the High Priest, in Noah's day...but I've tried to piece together the timeline from Noah, but if this timeline is correct, then that would make Melchizedeck around 900 - 1,000 years old when Abraham gave him honor of all tithes and offerings.

    Salem may have been the final redoubt of Shemites in the land of Canaan. Canaan first dwelt in the tents of Shem, after all, and the Canaanites would have followed Shem into the region. Where else would the father of the Hebrews naturally be drawn to but the future site of the city of Elohim? Regardless, it is a flying leap to declare Melchizedek was virtually a pagan priest.

    I have often thought about Melchizedek and the fact that he is called the King of Salem which predated Jebus and Jerusalem. Resist the assumption that God-fearing people ceased to exist until God called Abram out of Ur. Adonizedek may well have been a king who turned to idolatry. Melchizedek was a priest of the most High God. Pls do not miss the lesson in those words.

    Understanding Melchizedek as a theophany of Jesus is always the way I perceived this subject. The book of Hebrews is candidly clear about it. The other great reason is because we SDAs believe that Jesus is performing His new role as High Priest under the same characteristics described by the book of Hebrews. I believe that understanding that Melchizedek was a theophany of Jesus does not change nor alter none of the prophecies or dogmas practiced by a particular denomination. And for the same token, it does not make a sincere Bible believer a sort of heretic

      I don't think so, I believe Melchizedek was a person that was a priest of the God of Israel and not Messiah in another form. I believe he is a symbol of what Messiah would look like just like a lot of things in Tanakh point to the coming Holy One. He's not someone we should worship, just like Moses' life lineups with YahuShua's life in many ways when you study the Tanakh, we don't worship Moses but learn from him as to what to look for in Messiah if that makes sense.

      It shows how much some HR hate the idea of following Jews... they would rather believe that a Canaanite was superior to Abraham because then it would justify their entrenched belief that they as Gentiles are above Jews. Look how he blathers on how much evidence he has but Jews can’t figure out our language, book or have any right to our own historical interpretation. Everything can be said “this was done to combat Christians” because all rabbinical works that survived are all post Christianity. You could say anything that counters Christian theology is now just a reactionary action by rabbis then. Jesus isn’t even talked about in the Talmud. (Many say he is but it is a few different individuals with the common name but not the one found in the NT).
      This video is just HR porn... it loves to reinvent the wheel in spite of Jewish theology.

    Relating to the idea of Shem being Melchizedek, I have some serious doubts about this part of the chronology handed down by the masoretic text (MT) (I understand that there are a couple of older traditions which differ on this, though in most other cases the masoretic text tends to be more consistent). My basis for this is, if you plot out the genealogical chronologies as recorded in the MT, the timelines flow in a normal and predictable pattern, EXCEPT where the MT differs from those same verses as recorded in the Samaritan Pentateuch (SP) and the Septuagint (LXX). Those two agree on different ages at the time of the birth of the son, as recorded.
    A number of consecutive patriarchs have a difference of 100 years at the time of birth, with the last one with a difference recorded of 50 years. I’m having to really gloss over the details due to time and space, but I trust many readers who study the scriptures are aware of the deeper details involved here.
    The point is that in the MT, when you get to this section, the normal genealogical flow is thrown completely out of whack with what has been to that point a normal flow, i.e., fathers die before their sons die. But where this difference in ages at birth is listed, it goes out of whack and many of the fathers start to outlive their sons, sometimes even living longer than their great, great, great grandsons. But if you allow for the SP and LXX to be the accurate timeframes, then this problem disappears, and the normal flow of fathers dying before their sons is restored (I think a couple may remain).
    It’s also noteworthy that the age of the fathers is drastically reduced when compared to other ages given in other parts of the genealogies as stated in the MT. The SP and the LXX are more compatible with these others.
    Note that I am NOT saying that the SP and the LXX are in general more reliable, but seemingly ONLY in this instance.
    I am looking forward to some discussion on this, because I harbor no illusions of being an expert authority on the Holy Scriptures. Just merely a believer who honestly studies the scriptures to gain the best understanding I can of the Word of God.

    This lesson has some information however I believe it is inaccurate! Abraham gave tithe to this man and you made no allusions to this! Also,, those close to the original text tell us that Abraham started speaking Cannnanitish not hebrew! Question, where did he learn to speak this language? in addition, Melchizedek was priest of the Most High meaning he was also a teacher! Moreover, this title seems to be associated with ruler of Jerusalem as you indicated in Joshua 10. Clearly, this is not a name but a title or rather more accurately an Order! It seems Abraham's connection to Jerusalem predates his call to migrate to the land that flows with yadayada. I could say more but lets just cut it here!

      Roberta, God bless you. Don't just seek the Scripture seek the man behind and the Spirit of the text. John 5: 39 You seek the scripture because you think they give you have eternal life. But the scriptures point to me. Before the Hebrews there were the Cannanite who had a Priesthood in the Order of Melchisedec. The Cannanites we are told were Africans by scholars. Cannan was the son of Ham. The Order was Melchisedec is not Hebrew. The Hebrew Order is the Aaronic which ended with Eli the High Priest beginning the Book of Samuel. Jesus began here where Abraham began the Order of Melchisedec and this is why he was rejected by Levitical Priesthood. He is coming back to Jerusalem according to Zechariah the closing chapter. The Order of Melchisedec established Jerusalem. Anyway, I am not arguing but when I was a child I spoke as child ....A son as long as he is a child is placed under governors and tutors. The Hebrews are from Iran but they came to replace the Cannanites as migrants and learning their tongue which they bastardised in the process. Hebrews are those who came from across the river Euphrates and they are Iranians.
