I work in wine retail. I LOVE Aussie shriaz/blends. By far these are some of the most consistent "bang for the buck" wines. I was surprised that the only bottle of Shiraz that WalMart had was a $2.88 bottle of Oak Leaf. Probably not a good representation of this grape. Had to try it though.
I love his trying to not make shit pretentious, but then another part of me wonders if he's unconsciously slightly belittling penfolds grange etc so that he can promote his philosophy of not being uptight and snobby about wine. maybe he wants to not believe the "legend"

opened a 04 Branson Coach House recently..... gone bit dark, musky but still very big & balanced
