Here's an updated link to the Troy Lee A1 helmet! amzn.to/3Fpk5Jg -Tom
Gracious. I just spent 20 minutes looking for how to clip that mount in and your video finally was the winner. Thank you for being so clear!
Thank you, FDD. Your comment makes my day. I appreciate it. -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom hello. If you were to take the base of the mount off of the helmet, how would you do that? Is it not possible?
Very helpful, straight to the point videos without all the blabber in other channels
Thank you, Pedro!
A simple mount, but still very well explained. Thank you.
You hit the nail on the head about it being simple. And it's still one of the best helmet mount set ups I've seen. Thanks for the nice comment Jimbojet! -Tom
Another great review Tom👏
Thanks, Daniel. That makes my day. Much appreciated. -Tom
Now you have my attention. Will the next video show you jumping ramps? Or pulling wheelies? When we were very young we use to play with the Evil Knievel toy where you pulled the strap on the launcher and it would zoom off and wheelie or jump stuff. You, me, and Paul played with it in Oklahoma. Good times!
I’ll be waiting for the notification bell for your upcoming jumps and wheelies!
Oh Yeah, I remember that toy. You will be waiting a long time if you want me to jump or wheelie anything. Those days are gone, cuz!!!
This helped a lot
Thank you, Bray. I love to get feedback like that. -Tom
My go pro 9 is just too heavy for my head .
does the camera come with the slidy bit that fits onto the mount?
If you mean the frame that the camera slips into, yes, it comes with the camera, Charlie. And then the frame and connector mount to the base. It came with all of that.
Thanks!
You're welcome, Gaetano.
Thank
thanks so much tom
Can you ever feel the GoPro weight on your head when it's on ur helmet, does it make ur helmet unbalanced?
Great question, Jkmania. No, it's not an issue at all. I've done a 6 hour ride with it on and never once did it seem to bother me. And I don't wear my helmet too tight, either. The GP Session 5 is the lightest one I have. The GP 8 is bulkier of course. -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom Thx Tom! Taking that into consideration i will use it on my next ride :)
Nice one, thanks
Good
Very helpful
Does it wobble your helmet around? My helmet tends to wobble alot when I have the gopro on it. Any idea how to fix that?
Tighten up your chin strap for one thing. If your helmet has the adjustable cradle on the back of your head, tighten that up a bit too. I think the second one helps the most. Also, if you have your GoPro up on one of the longer attachments, use the one that keeps it as low to the helmet as possible. -Tom
A bike helmet is designed to absorb the impact if you are unlucky enough to go over the handlebars. A GoPro is designed to be nearly indestructible. This seems a recipe to have a GoPro pushed through your helmet and embedded in your skull. This does not seem like a good idea to me. Mount to the frame or your chest, not the helmet.
I can see your point. Let me add a little more color. The GoPro itself is designed to be nearly indestructable, I agree. The mount is completely different. I've had mounts break, the prongs break off, and it's a completely different plastic from the GoPro or GoPro cage around the camera. I think the camera would easily separate in you were to crash and the helmet hit anything. BUT, your scenario could certainly happen and it's a great point to consider. Thanks for the knowledge add! -Tom
I was looking for something to strap to the helmet, so I got on youtube and just before I clicked on this I figured it out, looking at all my mounts and stick on pads. Duh! 🤓
It just fit really well! One of the tricks is to stick it to the helmet while the camera is on the mount. You need to make sure you don't put it in too tight of an area that you can't get to the prongs to release the slide mount. It's still stuck like cement on my helmet. It's not going anywhere.
VERY nice to own this
Is the mount secure on the helmet? It wont fall off?
It's rock solid. Still hasn't fallen off to this day. Just makebsure you properly prep the surface before you stick it on.
I wanted to know how to do it with the exact helmet lol
Thanks, are you sure that the sticker will not fall off?
It hasn't come off yet and the 3M tape they use is STRONG. It's made for it. -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom Thanks for the good review, I picked up a go pro 7 today and it mounts perfectly on my helmet!
Thanks
Thank you, Aaron.
What do you mean by alcohol?
I used rubbing alcohol to clean the surface properly so the adhesive sticks really well. -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom Thanks, that helped a lot. (Subscribe to WAK Squad if you want, you don't have to) Thanks
What is the mount called
Johnathan, it's officially called a curved sticky mount. Here's a link to them. You can also find 3rd party versions of it and you can get 3X as many of them for the same price GoPro charges. You always think of more places to use them so don't be afraid to get a few extra. They're worth far more than they cost. amzn.to/3taKDa4 -Tom
Which GoPro is it?
The small one is a Session 5 and the larger one is a Hero8 Black, Sharon. -Tom
Cool helmet. Where do you get the helmet from?
Here you go, Chris. amzn.to/2MZrng8 It's so comfortable that I forget it's even on my head. -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom Hey Tom, link seems to be down. Could you re-link it please ?
Edit: Found the reference; Its a Troy Lee Designs MTB Helmet A1. It would still be kinda helpful to get the amazon link but that is the helmet shown in the video.
@@santiagolv2838 Thanks for the heads up, Santiago. Pun intended!! I updated the link and here it is as well. amzn.to/3Fpk5Jg Thanks for the help. -Tom
My GoPro 9 came with a mount
IT IS VERY COUMPHY
