- South Florida is home to a wide variety of butterflies, and there are many ways to attract them to your garden. One of the best ways is to plant butterfly host plants. These are plants that provide food and shelter for caterpillars, which eventually turn into butterflies.

I have swarms of zebra long wings and monarchs too and giant milk weed is easy to propagate too fast growing from cutting's.

It is beautiful my pipe vine is loaded with caterpillars I'll propagate some cuttings from it and buy another plant to keep up with the caterpillars 😄

I have candlestick cassia growing for the sulphers and right now the sulpher caterpillars are the only caterpillar species that is evading the wasps. The sulpher caterpillars hang out in the cassia flowers and that seems to fool the wasps that are just devastating the other kinds of caterpillars.

When the cats eat the yellow cassia flowers they are bright yellow and when they eat the leaves they are green. I think the wasps can't see them or however they detect cats when they are on the flowers. Then I know the cats got away successfully to form a chyrsallis because I saw them crawling off the cassia and headed for higher ground to changeover. @@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN

Batcupia is a tubular red flower with purple around top of it. Just wanted you to share whatever information you know about it.

It’s better not to have any milkweed if tropical is the only one available. It’s very detrimental to Monarchs.
Hi, it depends, Monarchs need our help desperately. On tropical mikweed use, I went into detail discussion about its pros and cons in my video. Yes, The OE pathogen can build up in the tropical milkweed if you don't cut it back in the fall to reduce the pathogen buildup. But Our video goes also shows a graphic on how to cut back the tropical milkweed in fall to remove OE. Still best to use native milkweeds, but I provided a tropical milkweed work aroundn with cut back method.😀🪴
