When you homeschool, you get to control the impressions the outside world makes on your kids... big why I chose it...also to give my kids critical thinking skills and wisdom to make wise choices and defend why.

Gungor really put thoughts in order and explained them well, I love connecting with my daughter but I remind myself that I am her father and not a buddy. I am there for any concerns she has, though very hard to compete against a whole school of friends and internet. It's a battle everyday to be a parent, but it is fulfilling when that child gives you a clearly understanding nod... complimented with a smile.

No, you know what does not make "your relationship great"? Giving your heart and body to every car before you get bored with the car you've decided to permanently be with. Waiting until marriage is amazing because you will never wish you could have the last car you drove instead. If you're only with one man/woman you will reach a height of contentment that is only fathomable if experience it.

I love his messages, its so true. Having sex after 6 hours of meeting, after one date? Hollywood and even certain TV shows have so much negative influence on us, most of us don't realize it. Its just that, people need to know how to think for themselves when they watch these things. You know sex before marriage is wrong, but you LET the influence of movies/TV make you think its alright, and that its nothing. We just need to learn to differentiate the right and wrong.

It's called maturity. If taught at home respect, honor, integrity, self discipline then as adults they're more able to make the right decisions and not crush others who come into their lives with their disrespect by how they talk to them and how they treat them.

G'day, Pastor Gungor! You have made some highly significant points on parenting in this sermon. I do have a question about the comparison you made between the likelihood of one's neighbour's son flying about on a broomstick and the same young man fondling your daughter. While the neighbour boy isn't likely to accomplish the flying feat, he is apt to get into the occult, witchcraft, sorcery, magic arts and those other things which are decried in the Bible. The Harry Potter books and films are likely breeding grounds for interest in these things which God has declared to be sin.

Pastor in 2005 during hurricane Katrina I slept with a guy I just met, I was 42. He hates me for that and always accused me for what I was too easy. The thing is I got pregnant from him, he absolutely rejected me and then my born daughter. Today I am 57 raising my daughter she is 14. I don't date anymore, her father shows up here and there, rajesmy daughter for lunch and buts her something. They look alike! I feel depressed, lonely, I also have a stroke, was released from hospital and now back to life. I went to hundreds of church services, only to fall asleep or forgot what the heck they were talking about. I never thought a Pastor could speak straight forward like you do. The first video I found of you recently I thought you were a comedian, I didn't know you were a Pastor and that was a church not a theater. What words of encouragement do you have for me? I quit smoking, I don't drink, I am eating a variety of healthy food, I walk every day. But I still got that rejection on me and an empty void in my heart.

I think that good parenting is a way of balance-between showing my children how the world is in harsh reality (not only in faerytales and ideologies - imo ideologies are faerytales for adults) :D, and how it should be. Esp. how it should be when you can say "no" to the negative things. Its a way of balance between preparing them for the harsh and brutal things and preparing them not to be too much prepared, too much cynical, too much agressive and too much materialistic or posesive - we should prepare them to be persons of values - not without ideas and ideals (but not ideologies).

I can't see where this was directed at only the guys. This was directed at both. Now as far as it harming a women's dignity more than a man, well... that's simply true. Even among completely non-believing guys, women that run around are not held in high regard. I went through public schools where none believed in morals, and even their, the girls that slept around were always looked down on. You can be angry about it, but it is the reality that we live in.

  • @jeshikain

@revron77 no you don't seem to understand. as a girl, we have to be careful around guys and becareful of where we end up with them, especially non-christian people or people who werent taught well by their parents because girls end up in situations alone with a guy and sometimes that guy wants more than the girl wants to give and when the guy gets agressive, some woman would rather give in and let it happen than to try to say no and leave the situationa nd potentially get killed in the process

@sciencegeekjsusfreak - Some of the comments are not very well organized on youtube. My point was there are several factors that leave to abortion. Most Christians are against abortions, but are not against activities that lead to abortions. When the opposite sex freely mixes, drinks and dances wearing skimpy clothese, it is natural to go one step beyond and have an "accident" that needs an abortion. Islam puts restrictions that result in "less" abortions.

great thinking. many good advices. but I dont buy one thing - about dvd fastforward >> button. Parent should have seen the movie first and thats ok, and do view the movie with their child or eventualy dont give them the movie at all saying - you will watch this in a few years when it will be more understandable for you or not so harsh for you. But to do such a thing at childrens presence is a big humiliation to children. The childen would not feel to be in right place and time, feel pushed on the margines and childrens trust in parenting's abilities of their parents could be destroyed.

This is why Twilight, (even though I hate it) is better than a lot of stuff. I mean at least they are committed to each other and wait with sex until they are married. Though marrying a guy you hardly even spoken too doesn't seem like such a good idea... Still better than a lot of what is on tv. Says no to abortion, guy actually courts the girl... Some good points.

You missed my point completely. I said that by turning it into a taboo you're making it into a far too serious issue. Did you not read what I said? • @gingerproject8887
      @gingerproject8887 4 роки тому

regelemihai You gotta look at what the world is coming to. The adversary is pushing all these immoral stuff to the point of desensitizing what’s right & wrong. Now it’s the norm. Bad Is good and good is bad. Everyone is okay with it. Everyone is doing it. Just do it. When does it get to the point when enough is enough? Or, this is wrong? Because we’re surrounded by it doesn’t mean we have to accept it and bring into our home. Once you start compromising your faith and biblical value with the world view, eventually your life leads more into sinning.

You found it disgusting and horrible when you were fifteen. But people these days may be watching porn at thirteen or something. Girls usually have a self protective system, but guys mostly don't. When they watch it, they like it, they think that's how people have s*x, but it's not. Those making porn fake it, they exaggerate it in all kind of ways.
I think what he meant was teach them, the kids should learn about it, but it doesn't need to get graphic.

In general I like this teaching. However a couple of observations... 1) the main message in the service should be straight expositional teaching from the bible. 2) this teaching while good is more appropriate for a mid-week application class. It's important but not nearly as important as the teaching of doctrine.
    3) He cites worldly psychological studies as authoritative. Psychology is a doctrine of demons so anything it produces is poisonous.

Filtering what your kids see is a bad idea. Keeping them ignorant of the realities of life is not gonna help them. It's like trying ot give them as cushy a life as possible without experiencing any pain or frustration. That's not how you prepare someone for adulthood, because when they finally clash with real life, instead of being prepared, they'll be completely overwhelmed.

    • @carlaaustin7223

Not true. School and the world is out there bombarding them with things, home is the safety zone. You train them at home because of the bombardment of sex, drugs, disrespect for others they get everyday when they leave the house. How do you think they learn respect, honor, compassion, self discipline? Home.

I like this man. Ofcourse I disagree with him on some points but he's really great. But the one thing I have to highlight- the pre-marrige sex issue. That's completely nonsence- I don't thing that's having sex on the first date is the best option, but marrying first is even worse. Sexual life is vey important and to realise you don't understand each other when it comes to sex...when you are already married...that's not something which would made your relationship great...
