Seems like a lot more consistent uploads lately! This has been one of my favorite channels to watch for several years. Still going back through the archives when I can. Thank you for all that your family does!
Great video Tom, and an awesome shot. I’ve been watching since the episode where you and Travis got dropped off on a lake in Alaska when you got that beast of a bull moose crossing the lake. Love that you guys also do predator management weather it’s bears, mtn lions or wolves. Keep the awesome content coming.
In Hawaii where temps are hot. hanging in a tree and having the winds cool it helps. We try to get on ice soonest and the meat still tastes delicious. We use garbage bags too.
So good! What a beautiful bull! Huge congratulations to you Tom! Well done. I use the big contractor bags too. I pack out a ton of animals every year as well and staying clean/not bloody is a big deal for me too. Congrats again.
Great video, loved the white wolf kill video too. Solo film, butcher and pack out is impressive well done that is some serious work. If your ever in Southern Colorado hit me up.
that was awesome. Too bad, you couldn't drive up that logging road. it was probably gated. It's still pretty cool to be that close and tag out that early.
@Stuckntherut1 exactly. I usually drive around day 1. to look for ereas to walk 🚶♂️ into the next day. don't get my wrong. If I see something, I will get out but I have seen road hunters while I'm sitting on a ridge, and they circle the same spot over and over. good, it's gated it's nice to walk on a closed path like that, without worrying about trucks 🚚 coming out from behind
100% agree on Contractor bags! I've successfully Guided 111 Elk kills and packed out more than that. I used contractor bags (always unscented, house garbage bags are hard to find unscented), the next best bags are surgical medical waste (blue bags) because they have the little pad to set your knives on or meat as it comes off. The huge advantage is keeping your packs clean but the lubricity of the bags help make it way easier to load and unload into and out of your pack. Dried blood can cement them into a tight pack. The key to keeping the meat (I've also NEVER lost any meat from spoilage.) Is to set it out as you remove it and don't load it into bags until your ready to load and depart. Even 30mins of fresh air helps that outer layer form a dry skin on it. If you are making multiple trips - don't bag it until you return. That's where guys are messing up. Once you are to the transporter then get it on ice or lay out or hang out of the bags, leaving it in bags in weather above 44° is how it gets spoilage, not packing it out in contractor bags. So I'm on board and a big fan, besides I'm often in the woods weeks at a time and couldn't wash game bags well enough and I'm not sending hunters home with my bags either. All my younger Guides learn to use the contractor bags correctly and hunters once educated properly start to appreciate them too! I like those fun fast hunts... My fastest yet was this year... 5mins and a big bull was down. I'd like to pile a wolf one day too. Good work!

Awesome hunt and thanks for the info regarding the garbage bags. I've always carried them to make a tarp to put the meat on.
That was awesome having them run up and slowly turning them up and shot broad side!👏🏻 love the amount of uploads recently! Great videos!

Very nice can add an idea for you keep a pallet in the bed of the truck it allows air to flow underneath your meat.
That does help a lot. Thank you 🙏
Great effort mate.

Thank you Blake
Very cool how awesome was that a solo elk in one day.
Perfect shot
I never have sit like that when I draw 😢
Awesome!!!

It was gated, but I consider it a good thing. Weeds out the road hunters.

Great shot! I was curious, what kind of camera setup did you use to hold it when you shot? Thanks!
💪🏻 Nice Tom 👊🏻
He’s young? THAT THING IS MASSIVE!!
About a 3 yr old
Awesome
Nice work. New subscriber!
We kill alot of animals too and have never had meat spoil using garbage bags around game bags. Works great!! Nice bull, nice shot!

Yup, packing with garbage bags works perfectly, you can lay them down to rest and no dirt, now hanging is another story 😊
Absolutely!!!
We use garbage bags too. We put the meat in game bags then garbage bags in the pack then hang them Just in the game bags. We never lose meat either.
Which go pro is this?
What broadhead are you using?
Strikers
Do you find it better to put meat inside the bag, instead of in-between the frame and bag? Thanks
The closer you get your meat to your back, the better for comfort in packing heavy weight in my experience
Where is this magical place where your shoot bulls and wolves on the road ? Lol awesome bull
Gated ,closed to vehicles road. Probably walked in some miles on it.
Gated roads work like trail systems, only foot traffic. The fresh tire tracks indicate that a logging operation will be starting in there soon.
Yep, garbage bags while you're packing meat. I do it every time.
Where did the road lead to. Maybe drive right to the kill site.
Road was Gated. Foot traffic only.
You guys are not even alone in this forest just run back home
Solo does suck. Great shot.
Thank you
