You don't need to be invited, you may find a photo walk in your area. If you are interested in the Cinestill world tour, find them on instagram, you will see when and where they will have the next one :)
Fun video! The cinestill walk was my first photowalk and predictably I made a dumb mistake and none of my photos came out. Maybe that has to happen on everyone’s first walk. (I’m the guy with the old Plaubel Makina)

I can see how you describe yourself as shy, Sam. But this is not a weakness. I consider myself to be somewhat of a shy person. And if anything this makes me a better person. So you go girl! The photo walks are wonderful. I love watching these. And to cap off a long day, a few beers afterwards, yum! My little city here on the Florida panhandle would be perfect for one such event.
A few weeks ago I was watching another person shooting with a medium format, before I saw you with the Pentax 645n. This was when the little bubble appeared next to my head and I ordered one from Japan. I got the Pentax 645. Which for me isn't the most practical of cameras, being in a wheelchair. But totally worth it. Shooting film has become very therapeutic for me.
Congratulations on getting the Pentax!! I agree, it’s definitely not the most convenient camera but like you said, therapeutic!!! A couple time when I feel down and anxious, I’d carry this camera around and go shoot some random stuff, it somehow calms me down… so I can totally understand the therapeutic magic of it 😊

I completely understand the anxiety going to a photowalk but once you are there for some minutes you get loose and start talking to people which seems like you did and that’s great 😃 you’re pictures are amazing

I used to hate getting my pictures taken, my level of self courteousness is insane!! But over the past a few years (thanks to vloging and streaming LOL) I’ve let go.. it’s a good thing, now I have memories of myself through these pictures!!

I would say I have the pretty bad social anxiety and I never would feel alright around people…however I feel alright for this kind of film gathering and yes I will bring my leica even though it’s not my favorite, just wanna feel confident…I just don’t want to admire someone just because of their camera and feel bad because I don’t have it 🙂 and now I’m in debt but shoot film in peace in mind.
Also language barrier makes me nervous too

I go admire everyone's camera, no matter the brand or price, anything I don't have or I never seen before lol~~ at the same time, whatever camera I bring doesn't boost my confident though~ (but if I get my hair right that day I'll feel better hahahaha) I can totally feel you about the language barrier, it's okay, we can talk slow, we can talk broken, nobody cares~ Have fun, that's the most important thing!!
@@itscapturedbysam yeah that's my own problem when I feel..not jealous but I keep wanting things I don't have. I ended up buy buy all "hot" cameras eventhough I couldn't afford them. But as I said I feel peaceful now..Maybe I'm too young and don't know how to handle this...

These are fun if you know at least one other person but from my experience it’s been hard to make friends on a photowalk ppl stick to their cliques 🫤
I didn’t talk to many people the first time I went, then I went a couple of times and start seeing familiar faces then I took photos for some of them then added them on Instagrams then we’d start chatting next time we see each other.. it takes time and courage for sure. And if I’m lucky, people would say hi and start the conversation first… find one person, make one friend!! That’s all it takes to continue make more~ 🤓
