I’m in my forties. Growing up, Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol (Morrison), and Tomb of Dracula were my guys. I left comics completely in the late nineties after high school and going into my Army days. New 52 Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Aquaman etc are what got me back in. So, for a much as people are (mostly) down on the New 52 stuff, I hold it in extremely high regard. I’ll defend this era forever.
Alan moore runs amazing, im def buying this run to check it out but only when i can get a good sale. Sometimes it takes months but if it's in stock they go for like 40% off, free shipping.
Is it me or is the Scott Snyder 52-reboot of Swamp Thing perhaps a little too dependant on the storyline of Starcraft? The rot/the zerg? Abigail/Kerrigan? The queen of the rot/the queen of blades? Abigail/Kerrigan in the end turning into a winged (Xel´naga) goddess? Alec and Abigail both going into a chrysalis to be transformed as Kerrigan does? Also his "Batman: The court of owls" a little Eyes Wide Shut-ish? Its ok to be inspired of course, but it can become too direct sometimes.
Read this when it orriginally came out and forgot how much I liked it. Just ordered from my usual supplier but will have to wait for a restock as It is sold out...dammit.
Hey Matt! Great overview! I- as heretical as it may sound- have never read Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing. I have, however, read(& own) the Wein/Wrightson run(Wrightson was a god!). And I luv it! The Gothic horror aspects are fantastic! I also loved the mini, "The Dead Don't Sleep," by Wein & Kelley Jones(another god, lol)! It, too, had the dark, Gothic horror aspects that I luv! Does the Alan Moore run have a Gothic horror feel, or does it have a very different vibe? I luv all the stuff of Snyder I've read. He has a real knack for horror!(and Batman, obviously) And though I've not read much Charles Soule, the little I have, I liked! The art in this omni looks good, too! Have u seen the series? I never watched it, but wanted to. I know it was only the 1 season, but it looked like a dark, Gothic & creepy horror show. I hope it comes to HBO Max soon! I read a few months back that it was supposed to, but it hasn't yet, for whatever reason.🤔 Anyways, thanx for this video, bro! Stay healthy & safe! 😊👍🏻👍🏻❤
Absolutely criminal that Charles Soule's name isn't on the front cover, he wrote over half of the content collected in this volume.
You guys got me into hardcovers and now I have 4 bookshelves full

This was a day 1 pre-order for me. I loved this series, and it was one of the series that got me hooked on reading comics.
I agree on the spine font, Would have looked awesome with the cover font instead.

Man, I don't know if I should get one. If I have both of the Snyder/Soule custom binds.
I personally prefer Customs!! So that’s my answer lol

“You make my heart sing”
I started collecting small 1/8 statues, i've been trying to find swamp thing!
This was a little figure that was a SDCC exclusive I believe. Picked him up on eBay a couple years ago
