We just got back from an incredible trip to Japan. Because of your videos we stayed at Yukimurasaki and it was incredible! The balcony onsen was perfect! So good that my partner proposed there! So thank you for the excellent video recommendation!

It really pays to stay at ryokan. maybe little pricey but food and experience you get is priceless.

I agree. It's definitely expensive but really worth it. A ryokan gives you arguably the best example of Japanese hospitality.

Thank you for introducing Gifu Prefecture!! There are many other hot springs, such as Gero(下呂), Nagaragawa(長良川),Nigoriko(濁河)… Hida is also famous for Hida Beef(飛騨牛) and Meiho-Ham(明宝ハム)!Please introduce these again!!

It is your Japanese travel vid that got me to subscribe and it is your Japanese travel vid that I keep coming back to. Japan is always my fav country to visit and I hope I can come there for my honeymoon by year end, this time not as a solo traveler but with my husband. But with the travel restriction still in place, I am holding on tight. Before my dream gets actualized, I rewatch your Japanese trip over and over to just fantasize it. 😊😊

Just booked a night for two at Yukimurasaki in Nov 2022 purely based on your recommendation. Thank you. Travelling from Melbourne- now just hanging out for borders to open for tourists.

Wasn’t able to travel last Nov as Japan hadn’t eased restrictions early enough for us to book flights. Booked the same place for this Nov.

Amazing video, the ryokan looks so nice ! Can I ask which room did you choose ? I see multiple choices on their website and not sure which ones will have a great view of the mountain. Thanks !

That was obviously a “true bug” of the beetle family, an outside bug, not the kind that infests a place but the kind that might come inside if it gets a chance. I actually like knowing that 1) it’s a sign of how rural it is, and that 2) there aren’t a lot of pesticides around. It might freak me out too - but only bc I am phobic. It’s a big sign of how much we are accustomed to urban developments - it’s definitely natural and not something to be concerned about. It’s a good thing.

We will be staying in this ryokan this October. How do you get to Yukimurasaki from Takayama station by bus? And how do you return to Takayama city from the ryokan the next day?

    • @AllanSu
      @AllanSu  Рік тому +3

There's a bus that runs between Takayama station and Shinhotaka, where the ryokan is located.

Allan, this was a very well done video....nicely done. You spoke very clearly (you can't imagine how so many videos are so difficult to understand) and you did a great job of showing the room, food and Onsen. We're planning to visit Japan for our first time in October so I had some questions (1) The Japanese Cedar Bath in your room and the Open Bath are just meant to bathe in?....they're NOT an Onsen? (2) When you went to the rooftop and tried out the two Onsens, I gather you had to book this so are you only allowed a certain amount of time? I gather that there is no roof or covering, so if it rains you're naturally exposed to it? Other than the 2nd Onsen having rocks around the edge, it looked the same as the first one. Yet, you said you preferred the 2nd one....can you say why it was "by far" nicer? (3) Some Ryokans provide various drinks and snacks in case you're hungry. Wasn't sure if this one did? Really appreciate if you can help clarify my questions. Thanks again, Ron

My roommate and I are going to Japan in September, and we are staying at the same Ryokan :) I know this was a part of your 14 day trip, and we were wondering if you purchased your train tickets (Shinsekai) in advance? If you did would love to know what sight you used ? Thank you for this insightful video :)

    • @AllanSu

Is there a limit to how long you can stay in a ryokan?

Hello! I am very much interested in staying at a ryokan onsen just like you did. Very much like where you stayed in Takayama. May I please ask how much did it cost for the both of you to stay overnight in that ryokan onsen? All in all including the booking and the food. Thank you so much!

Oh, I love a hot open air bath in the rain. Here in US we call them hot tubs, once I was in an outside hot tub with maybe 12 other people in the snow - it was wonderful! We were all sitting in the hot water with a little pile of snow on our heads!

I really like your videos! This one in particular I find it a little too long / too much inessential talking. I’d cut out a little more like for example the seconds you turn on the lights in the bathroom where it’s still dark and can’t see anything.
But like always: love your unique style of calm videos.
Keep up the good work! And thank you!
