That’s awesome thank you Rusty, Bob & Liz ❤
More restaurant reviews please. Love the three of you together.
you guys always have so much fun...more reviews to come...I hope
Great meeting you this morning! Even cooler U2/SR-71 selectee! Skunkworks!
Those fish tacos look amazing, and it is good to know that they make a decent G & T. What a great time it looked like you all were having, and you were brave to order the escargot, Rusty. Burp. I will be moving back to Florida in a few months after having lived over in London for years, and have just discovered your channel so am binge watching. I can't believe that I now am over the age to live in The Villages. Ahem. 😂 Many thanks for the fun and informative videos. 🥂
Looks like an interesting place.
It was fun going out. Not for all but we had fun. Subscribe for new Videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
I will certainly be adding this restaurant to our OUT OF THE BUBBLE list. Everything looks delicious! I hope you all enjoyed everything, especially going out on the limb with the escargo and gator bites. I've had both at various places and I do enjoy both snails and gator. We especially order escargo when we are on a cruise, they usually serve it at least one of the nights on most cruises I've been on. The sauce and garlic go GREAT with bread!
My favorite is Stumpknockers in Inverness. Trio is a great choice, enough left over for lunch the following day 😊
I still remember when I first started working at an Italian place (1973 at age 16) and had to learn how to clean/prepare snails and squid! Never tried, never will!
Are used to live in Clearwater Florida from 88 to 2003. I was a pediatrician there used to go to Inverness and eat at the original stump knockers. Enjoyed the video. Thanks Dr. Steve.
Looks good!
Looks like fun!

This was a very interesting place. There was a small gator under the next table over!
Yup!
Thanks for sharing! I'd probably get the grouper but the fish tacos looked yummy.
Great video. Thanks for sharing

Used to go to Stumpknockers all the time in Inverness.
My mother and father lived in a gorgeous house on the Homosassa River, and after they died we spent our winters in Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club at st rd 52 and I75. The best grouper is at Inn on the Gulf at Hudson Beach. That would be a hike for you but worth it. I did my scuba certification in the Rainbow river in Dunellon. I was born in West Palm Beach. Now we live in a Del Webb community in South Carolina, but I so miss the birds and wildlife in Florida.
I have been eating gator ever since I moved to Fl in 1989. It is good if it is prepared correctly. Otherwise it is tough. One time in WI , a friend wanted me to share escargot with her and I liked it. Ever since then, I always get it on cruises-sometimes more than one night. Stumpknockers is good. I have been to both locations.
Looks great! We will be giving it a tryout soon!!
We ate @ Catfish Johnny’s & loved every bite!! We were so stuffed as well! Best seafood we have had & definitely the best key lime pie too!!
Lopez restaurant has the most delicious escargot. So good. Oh and once my husband got cat fish at Stumpknockers and got food poisoning. Even though it was 17 years ago he still won't go there.
Good for you for being adventurous when eating out. Wonder how the Ocala location compares?
She is like me. Taking some home
I love gator nuggets. I also like escargot, but I only get it when I cruise.
Last time I was there, lunch time, service was terrible. When we entered the place was not busy or crowded. Service was slow at first, then suddenly everything changed, a manager or supervisor made no secret telling our waitress to get us out ASAP, they needed our table. We were still waiting for our appetizers. Dinner was delivered to the table before the appetizers were. No offer for us to order dessert.
Apparently, they received a last minute call from the golf course up the road that a large group wanted to come in for lunch. Tab was appx $175.00 for 6 people, we have returned.
Love Stumpknockers. I agree that the Alligator bites are similar to chicken but not. Their grilled scallops are really good as well. I have had escargot before (not there) and I think it tasted similar to mushrooms.
I live about 2 miles up the street, not one of my favorites, but I am not a fan of any kind of seafood Maybe you should try the “ FREEZER”they do have food besides fish
I think the dark meat of gator bites is chewy also. But the white meat is about the same as chicken.
✌
What day of the week was this?
Yea that's not dunnellon. Stumpknockers is legit though, I used to frequent there.
My Mom and Dad loved Stumpnockers. I never liked it.
Hi Rusty! May I please ask where in St. Louis Bob and Liz are from? My hubs Todd and I currently live in St Louis. Personally do you think it’s too young to move to the villages if you are still working? My hubs works from home but his company has branches in Orlando and Tampa that in Orlando that he could work from. We are in our 50’s. Thanks, Mandy
Hi Mandy! Yes you would fit in here. Only one of you needs to be 55. Many of our neighbors work from home by day and party, play pickleball and golf in the evening. We lived all over St. Louis. Bob grew up around Carondelet Park in South City the Town and Country. I grew up in Sunset Hills and then Maryland Heights. We raised our Family in Affton and Fenton. Come on down for a Lifestyle visit and check it out. Liz
Thanks Liz! We will be there for a lifestyle visit on July 8th. We are visiting friends in Naples (too high priced for us) for the July 4th holiday and then we will drive to Orlando from there. We fly out on the 13th. Hope to see you. Mandy
unbelievably expensive
Gayer is chewy!
