sirens vary for several reasons... 1. The 'wail' siren is allegedly more distinguishable on open roads and allows for better judgement of direction that the appliance is approaching from. 2. The 'yelp' siren is more suited to built up areas where the echo from buildings renders the 'direction sensing' obsolete.
4. most modern cars are very well sound insulated. If a car fails to respond to a particular siren then a change of tone may alert them. (if all else fails there is always a bull horn) Sirens can be operated by both the driver and OiC) using either a foot switch. no, it was originally commisioned by ITV and is currently doing the rounds on satellite TV
There is a facility for the doors to be operated remotely and automatically but it is not used currently

they trap the gases fromthe exhaust and the gas flows through out a vent it dissconets automaticly when leaving the station
