This is right up my ally! Of course genetics play a role in hair growth. That’s number one. So always keep this in mind. But also, I think a lot of people misunderstand that it’s not about getting your hair to grow (all hair grows), it’s about retaining the length! So all these magic potions aren’t going to do anything for your hair if you still have poor maintenance practices that are causing your hair to break just as fast as it grows! Taking care of your ENDS is just as important as your scalp! ❤️ Both Beyoncé and Kenya BEEN draping and you can tell they take good care of their even when its in a protected state. 😍
Healthy hair and long hair is not genetics anybody can get their hair to grow if you take care of it when I first came from Jamaica my hair was too my butt I used to wonder why black women in this country here is so short and that's because they put relaxers and all these chemicals in their hair at a early age back in the 70s everybody in Jamaica had long hair if they did not they we're doing something wrong to their hair after going and get my hair relaxed because it was too nappy to control with the length and I had a hairdresser that over process my hair and my hair fell out but taking care of my hair and using the chibi powder I got my hair to re-grow back you can make up your own hair mask at home by using yeast onions and rice water to get your hair to grow back long
It’s pretty 🥰
@@georgiarobinson65 stop calling your hair Nappy.
Wear it in its natural texture and take care of it.
And genetics does play a role in hair growth. Genetics play a role in hair color, shape, texture and thickness.
It's our genetic has humans that allow for us to grow hair continuously throughout our life cycle. You do realize that right? LOL
@@13579hee I said I had strong hair not nappy hair that's a word that you black Americans use I know my culture and respect my genetics and my ancestors and the reason why Allah gave me this type of hair and I love it I used to go to bowjax to have the white boys blow dry and curl my hair and they were amazed by the body and texture of my hair and the length of my hair which was down to my back
Genetics play a role in how fast your hair grows and the density of your hair, not how long your hair can grow. I wish people would quit saying this.
Why do people believe black women don't have long hair?
Chance Ussery ...Right!!!
Bc they think of the slave movies when blacks didn't have the means or tools to even take care of our hair, so it was unhealthy and broke off. They stuck in the past. But the fact that bw were set up to fail, and we have overcome and become what they want to look like, is so funny.
Chance Ussery
Because a lot of them don’t have long natural hair. Or they don’t wear their real hair. But ofcourse anyone’s hair can grow.
I was looking for this comment🙄i mean wtf~tuh ...All this shit is black people have to be deprogrammed from all the bs we thought even about ourselves! Cause i bet the majority of the women who thought it was weave were black women🙄
Because most of us wear fake hair . Unfortunately that is the truth
Why do people believe black women can't have long hair? There are many black women with long hair but keep it in a bun or ponytail.

I keep my hair in a bun 😂 and my hair is thick, curly, and mid back length.
AMEN🏆 Im a bun & weave queen when I can no longer handle my hair because of the long length
Same here #BunGang
facts.
The reason people think black women can't grow their hair out is because the average black lady typically "DOESN'T"😵 they opt for the weaves, wigs, extensions etc. so naturally people would not think they can grow their hair.
Everybody's hair grows.the key is length retention.
Edit: wow y'all thanks for the likes 😊
Right! but if it’s breaking as fast as it’s growing you’ll never see the length

My hair is down my middle, and I didn't have long hair as a child. A good regimen can give you length. It's not impossible, it's anti blackness that has us thinking this.

Why are so many black women and black men so obsessed with long hair? It shouldn't matter the length of a black woman's hair as long as her hair is healthy.
@Emani Blue No its not. Halle Berry is stunning with short hair!
Bcz black women are obsessed with looking and feeling like white women!
Historically speaking, women, across many cultures, are obsessed with hair in general...especially Black women.
Because long hair is Rare for black women it doesn’t grow in 3 months like other races. All hair lengths can be beautiful yes but having long healthy hair is just something special in the black community

Condition, Condition, Condition is the key!!!! Oh! And Protective styling, weaves are definitely helpful, keeping it moisturized and protecting those ends. That is all!!!! Consistency is a major key!
@Kay YouI was also sceptical before, but weaves does provide protection, it doesn't work if people leave their hair uncared for. I started wearing weaves about 8 months ago to give my bra strap length, real hair a break and the last time I went to the salon, the hairdressers retrieved pictures of my previous length for comparison.
My hair had grown faster and is now mid-back length in that space of time. I have never been able to retain that amount of length to see massive growth before. That's why I now know that Black hair is *really* delicate and needs babying. It's adverse to constant manipulation or being left unprotected to the elements.
Everything you said Plus Protein!!!🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@Kay You Weave doesn't help most because most aren't concerned with maintaining healthy hair under their weave. You still must keep your hair conditioned not perm the leave out be careful when taking the weave out and putting it in. Black "queens" are the ones that say it ain't real tho!
If you have 4b_4c hair, protective styling is your best friend.
@Queen Nzinga Men don't style their hair like or as much as black women do???? Does he have locs??
Queen Nzinga
They didn’t say you HAD to. They just said it’s a good method to use for your hair type.
Queen Nzinga
No, you said it was a “lie”.
Agreed 👏🏾
@Queen Nzinga that don't mean it's A LIE ! And why on gods good green earth did you use your HUSBAND in a CHAT ABOUT BLACK WOMEN 😂 #Strawman Arguments
Of course, genetics are a major factor HOWEVER Diet, Health and taking care of your hair properly is equally important. Black Women have to stay on point with keeping our hair Moisturized properly, that is the foundation for our hair growth.
Always loved Kenya’s hair. Deep conditioning is key to maintaining length... but what do I really know, my hair has always been long af due to GENETICS....
BINGO! Every little girl in my daughter's family hair is long, thick, curly & down their backs about time they are 5. My grandson who's 6 goes to the middle of his back, so ppl always thought & still thinks he's a girl. Lol!
Famous Nobody yes genetics is definitely key.
SHE RAVES very true plus you have to take care of it
Kenya's hair is BEAUTIFUL
Hair care! Genes help, but you gotta take care of it PERIODT
I find it funny how people praise Beyoncé’s type 3 hair and not her own daughters type 4 hair😬
Beyonce is a 4A. Her mother is 3B. Solange look like a 4C maybe 4B.
@@AnastasiaLUVSU Bey is not 4a LMAOOOO my hair is kinkier than Beyoncé’s and I’m 3c/4a. she’s probably 3b/3c and her mom is 3a/3b.
Beyoncé clearly has type 4 hair
Beyonce has afro hair, and she always has. Her hair is always straitened and trained. But look at any old Destiny's Child pics with those dusty braids Tina kept her in and you will clearly see her kinky roots. Don't be fooled.
I'm glad us BLK woman are growing longer hair and going natural. These blk men getting out of hand calling us Baldhead and none blks think we're jealous of there hair which couldn't be the furthest from the truth.
Sunshine Daisey
I think the latter has more to do with the fact that so many black women prefer straight or loose curly textured hair
Sunshine Daisey black men cant grow their own hair thats why their mad
@@peekaboo3968 LOL!!! Right and some of them are even weaving it up now.

I agree They selling snake oil.
Exactly talk that talk 👏🏾🗣
Say it agajn. They has been time when I was very negligent with my hair care routine and my hair was still long. I cut it all the time it just hair to me because I've alway had long hair. When I was younger I couldn't sand when people made a big deal behind it. It us 20% care and 80% genetics
I can't believe this is a topic...when did brown women become the bald headed clique😔💤
false advertisement. theres a product being promoted on snapchat atm where theyre showing black women puttin oil on their 'short' hair to acheive white women hair. fuckin bs.
Kenya Moore’s hair is beautiful ❤️
I respect your work but I'm slightly irked that this is a topic to be spoken on.. Yes black women hair grows and can be retained!
Exactly!!!
This continually perpetuates ignorant stereotypes in our community. As if black women can't have long hair naturally...
Leilah is a SOCIAL COMMENTATOR. She DIDN'T arbitrarily START the topic. She merely ACKNOWLEDGED the video Ms Tina posted. We can't just sit around and pretend that if this wasn't an ISSUE by people who criticize Beyonce, and the Black Community in general, Ms Tina would not have felt the NEED to make this video! #MommaBear😊
I think it's a combination of things. Gene's, health, and hair care
I find it funny that whenever Kenya shows her naturally long hair ppl start yelling "invisible part"! 😒
It's not all hers that girl lied about her butt being real so why wouldn't she lie about her hair
@@chair1002 she's showed her natural hair on several occasions, but ppl just want to assume that every time we see her she has pieces in her hair.
@@chair1002 actually it is all hers, she has done so much with that hair more than just parting or running her fingers through it. not to mention in 93 when she won Ms. America her hair was long and thick as well.
Tbh, some people just do too much to their hair and that's why it doesn't grow. You see guys with long hair and that's just from them leaving it to grow naturally. My hair grew down to the middle of my back and I barely moisturized each day😂😂 The key is to not do too much! Don't let these youtubers confuse you with all these steps.

I love the fact that everything about Beyoncé is natural from head to toe!!!
not really I mean if you want to include the nose job she had.

I need a face evidence like Ms. Tina's showing her long tresses and face when her stylist was doing her hair.

Genetics determines a person's hair texture, but a healthy hair care regimen helps it grow long & strong
@@bellabelle6484 no genetics doesn't determine length
I think Kenya naturally can grow long hair!!! I doubt her product will help others succeed 🤷🏽♀️ JS
Laneway Occhipinti your profile look beautiful
syeed looney thanks
Exactly! I can see if she showed a journey from jacked up hair to long healthy hair then I would believe it was her products that made her hair grow... if anything, her products are helping her maintain her hair... and that’s even if she really use her own products😒
Miss954 I really don’t think she does... her hair always been long
While everyone is admiring Beyonce's hair I'm sitting here wondering why I haven't seen her face yet🤔
Yeah why was she hiding her face

@@AnastasiaLUVSU hmmmm correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that make this video a *scam*
@@ZeekStreet Yep. Till this woman turns the camera to her face and shows her scalp in the same video. Then I'll believe it.
Beyonce's hair was shoulder length when she became famous, so I'm not understanding why no one believed that her hair grew since her teenage years.
Why is this news.... black people can have long hair
Take you vitamins and eat well your see hair growth cause hair grows OUT of the SCALP from your body.
I live in Detroit and have been in meetings with Kenya's real mother who is a well respected educator in Detroit. Kenya looks exactly like her and her mother has waist length hair as well. Genetics play a huge role in hair growth (Kenya inherited her mother's hair), but almost anyone can grow long healthy hair if you know how to take care of your hair.
I think growing your hair healthy and long all comes down to your hair regimen because everyone’s hair grows, some faster or slower than others, but it grows. But you need a healthy hair regimen to make sure you stop breakage, brittleness or dry hair so that you can retain & grow length.
Childhood photos show her hair is naturally long! Thick and long! Diet and/or genetics!
I stopped relaxing my hair and doing stupid shit to it almost 10 years ago. My hair is almost waist length. My family is amazed. I tell them all the time we have the same genes and just stop frying and dying. I changed the way I took care of my hair and it’s now dramatically different.
I used Kenya product line and it’s good. I just have a pet peeve about the conditioner. The conditioner has no slip to it. That’s just a personal thing I look for in conditioners. Overall her products are actually good.
Ashley P agreed its all about how you take care of your hair.
Your genes is a HUGE factor. Looser curls/str8 hair is nourished naturally quickly because it doesn’t have to fight against gravity to get to the ends of the hair. Hence the reason us type 4 hair girl moisturize with products.
Preach!
My friends hair is 4c as is my step daughters....Both their hairs grow fast af. It's only because it's so tightly coiled that people don't see the actual length...
This white man was so in disbelief, “So there’s no pieces in your hair” WHATTTTT😓😓😓😓😓
Beyonce was Becky with the good hair all along.

I love Bey and Kenya! They're both some very GORGEOUS women!!! Kandi too!!! I need to get some of Kenya's hair products too
It's sad when it's mostly other black women who dont believe it's her hair smh we have to do better
My natural hair is waist length. I dont wear protective styles. I take a multi vitamin and eat clean most of the time. I get trims often. Trimming I say is major key. I use heat protection when using heat. I deep condition often. I also use my own parabens and Sulfates free shampoo and conditioner bar. There are a lot of women with gorgeous hair. No matter your hair type or texture ladies. Love it, own it. It's apart of you.

When your Mom is a professional beautician.
I think genes/dna is a bigger factor in their hair being that long. Followed by several other factors, professional hair care, good health, vitamins, a good diet, exercise, good products etc...
There is actually several factors that can affect a person's hair growth.

I was so glad to see Beyonce's mom still involved in her daughter's happenings. A few years back I had seen a documentary on Beyonce's life when with Destiny's Child, and they told how her mother made their outfits. And I thought how so very nice of her mother to do this, and how incredibly smart she was to have skills to do that. I also was hoping her mother would continue to be apart of her happenings, just to keep an eye on things. I'm from the old school, and we watch out for ours. I never even questioned Beyonce's hair being her. She just always looked fabulous at concerts so what I got to be looking at her roots for. Plus she always had a superstar status, even as a teen, that she could've had the moon sitting on her head and it wouldn't matter. But I'm glad her mom posted this clip for the haters and naysayers so they can SEE and get out of her hair. Kenya Moore another forever beautiful woman and yes there is a similarly in her and Beyonce. Kenya you have a very good hair care line.
