- Опубліковано 26 лип 2024
- Drawing from Islamic scholars such as Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, and the modern Tunisian exegete Muhammad al-Tahir Ibn ‘Ashur, Dr Sohaib Saeed reflects on the importance of understanding and interpreting the Qur’an.
Through his translation of Imam al-Razi’s work, Dr Saeed provides a detailed exploration of the story of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) highlighting its interpretations, theological insights and parallels with the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Dr Saeed underscores the layers of interpretation and the challenge of comprehending God’s will, emphasising the need for patience, inquiry, and spiritual growth when grappling with profound theological questions.
This lecture was delivered on 20 January 2024, along with two others, as part of our Tea Over Books event: “Sovereignty & the Divine”.

God allows our choices with our opportunities.
We have limited will and what we do to ourselves is our fault. What others do to fellow creatures of choice is their fault.
No humans wish upon his fellow being or jinn locked into hellfire forever.
Assalamu Alaykum why are Muslims rejecting the use of the name ALLAH and replacing it with the name GOD the character of one of HIS attributes?
