A Tucson was our second choice in 2018, we bought a Mazda CX-5. A guy at work bought the Tucson, and it started losing a lot of engine oil after 80 thousand miles. Hopefully the newer ones will have fewer problems. Even with a 10 years or 100 thousand miles powertrain warranty, it is a struggle to go through all the hassle, especially if they are dicks about the warranty to save cash.

I recently bought a certified 2023 Tucson Limited. I also considered the Sportage. I liked some aspects of the Sportage better (dash and shifter), but as far as seating, visibility and comfort they were about the same. The fact I could get a certified Tucson with only 5K miles on it for much less than the 2024 Sportage sold me. Plus the Kia dealer was just harder to deal with than the Hyundai dealer (which I've heard is typical of them almost everywhere). My only gripe with the Tucson is the B pillar is a blind spot for me. I'm 6'3" with long legs and when I have the seat back far enough my head is right by the B pillar. Thankfully it has blind spot monitoring and the turn signal camera. The Sportage had the same situation too.

I'll agree, I like the Hyundai Tucson's multi lighted front grill also (looks more upscale) and would go with the limited Hybrid if buying one.

An for fun. 2025 Tucson will have a merged cluster and infotainment like Kia Sportage/Hyundai Kona/Ioniq, and the front angel wings grille is changed sligtly, more like Santa Cruz's

IMO, neither. Just get a Mazda CX-5 so that you have peace of mind.
