I believe the trade with the dog has been omitted for the price suggestion, as there was another sale with more traditional means, it has been successfully accepted and is now priced at 4825 keys. The original owner genuinely could not take care of the dog anymore and that friend already was very close to the dog, let's be real this likely was the best for the dog. The convo they had on steam doens't really fit that narrative though. The dude asked "How old is it?". Had he really been taking care of that dog prior to making the trade, then he would probably at least said something like "How old is he again?"

Dog lived a good 10 years with it's owner but the owner can't take care of him and in that old age that would be bad for the dog to sit around not being cared for. Owner just hit hard times but still found a way to get a little money for his family and his dog gets taken care of. But why sell the dog too if you're getting money!? That money will go fast helping his family then the dog would go back to not being taken care of. If this upsets you or you don't understand then you're young or someone pays your way in life. Some day you'll have to take care of more people then just yourself and you'll understand.
