Played this song for my girlfriend when she was going through cancer. It was a rough time for both of us emotional and physical wise but it always made her smile.Sadly she passed not long after. This is for you Liz.
Donald Vanzant So sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss realize she is always with you now no hiding lov you
😢
So sorry for your loss Donald. No words but GOD BLESS YOU. Stay strong.
gary jones sorry for your lost cause on life but this is just the dress rehearsal save your shit for someone who really deserves it Kay asshole find yourself soon love you too
It's hard to imagine writing a song this good, and it being considered your 37th best song.
All of Neils songs are awesome. Just a great musician and songwriter.
That is what happens when you write nothing but the best.
He must make some gooood music
You should check out Neil and the Shocking Pinks. Neil’s rockabilly side. Little hard to find, I would play ya the album if I could
@@mottorcyle5052 I have that CD. Love the video for 'Wandering.'
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written...
I wholeheartedly agree
I didn't't ever feel it was about a couple rekindling long lost love
I always felt it was a couple together for a long time and he still feels the same.
That's what my wife and I say.
I agree 💟
Yes. "This moon is rising high" means to me the years have passed, we're old now. This harvest moon means another year has passed. He's still in love with her.
@@woofolliesmydog8628 Well it's a song. Real life doesn't always reflect a great song, not even for Neil. He was in love with her but that love didn't last for ever.
@@bobkozalov8821 😢
One of my favorite Neil Young songs it was the song my wife and I loved to dance to.... I lost her almost 13 years ago to cancer but I still listen to it often because it puts me closer to her.... When We Were Strangers I watched you from afar..... so true. And yes I would love to see her dance again..... and still love her with all my heart. ... always brings tears to my eyes..... but makes me feel close to her again.💕 glad you enjoyed it ...this one's for you Lisa
I am happy you & your wife danced to this treasure 💝💎☮️ so sorry for your loss & know this song does heal & make sad times better , you can feel her in your arms dancing to this treasure 💕
I think its about expressing his love that's survived all the seasons of life.
He is no longer married to his ex-wife, Pegi, who he was married to for 36 years. He divorced Pegi in 2014 and married Darryl Hannah! Pegi died Jan. 1, 2019 after a yearlong battle with cancer. :(
Ross...that's how I feel when I hear this. ❤
One of the best Neil Young songs.
Neil Young is still underrated .. which blows my mind .. not in my book .. a lot of musicians catalogs wouldn't exist without him
He is not fucking underrated. What is it with this word? He is figuratively one of the most respected performers of all time. What do you think underrated means?
@@imnothere220 im 18 and no one my age knows him. Even the kids who are into music disregard him in comparison to bob dylan or other people from that era
@@hippierip6695
Well look at any of the musicians from the 90's such as Pearl Jam or Dave Grohl and they all respect him. If you're over 40 he was like a staple of every classic rock station.
I always thiught that it was a song about enduring love. You know, you see an old couple that just loves each other after all these years.
One of the most beautiful love songs written.
"Harvest Moon" was born 20 years after Neil Young's song "Harvest" from the 1972 album of the same name. If you listen to "Harvest", then you'll understand "Harvest Moon" as the next part of the love story.
I didn't know, thanks
Neil knew how to write a tune. For a darker song see the needle and the damage done.
or my favorite: Cortez The Killer
This. This right here.
He STILL knows how to write a tune. Dude's not dead yet.
One of the greatest love songs ever.
True, listen to " cookie an Lila " from Dr. Hook! It's pretty good.
My wifes and mine 1 of 3 slow dance songs. The others are This Guys In Love With You (Herb Alpert), and Because sang by Julian Lennon (Dave Clark Five wrote it)
Terrific choices!
No its not one of his better ones
I used to dance with my 3 month old son to this song. I love Neil young. And this song makes me happy.
Neil gold. My first old man crush. And that sweet smile Neil gives at the end. And the guy playing the broom!! Classic.
Neil is a major rock star for decades! Genius.
Beautiful! Always love Neil Young.
Neil Young is right up there with Bob Dylan. I have followed him since the 60's.
Unlike Bob Dylan, Neil young can write AND sing! Bob is a terrible singer
@@andrew348 From another angle, he's an amazingly talented singer.
IMHO - Neil is better than Bob - although neither have "traditionally" great singing voices... I somehow connect more with Neil....
To few songs from bob to compare with Neils' repertoire.
@@KelleyStrzelczyk He's well above 400; how many do you need??
I first heard Neil Young late 60s... Loved his music and still do over 50 plus years... Harvest moon one of my all time favorite s...
When I heard this on the radio, I immediately went to the store and got the CD. Then when it was released on vinyl a couple of years ago, I immediately went to the store and got it. Classic.
You smiled such a pretty smile the whole time you watched this video .
Very nice to see 🤗
When of the best songs ever written just so beautiful
Have you heard the cover of this by Foxes and Fossils, also by Josh Turner, both on Y.T.?
Beautiful Song...Neil youngs Fabulous ...😉❤❤🎶🎵🎼
I love that you enjoy Neil Young...very open minded 😊
I have loved Neil Young forever. I make sure that I listen to this song every harvest moon. I listen to his music all the time.
Of the two backup singers behind him, I think that's the late Nicolette Larson on the right ( brunette hair ). She had a HUGE dance hit that Neil wrote for her....called 'Lotta' Love'.
195511SM I wondered what happened to her. Sad to hear. Thanks for that.
@@suerobinson ua-cam.com/video/t1i66YpYgV0/v-deo.html I only had her one album, but this was also on it. I saw her perform at a little club in Cotati, CA at some point, but didn't realize it was HER standing next to me at the bar before the show. She looked like this, but I had only seen her photo on the original album cover....LOL
Love you lovin’ Neil Young! He’s like Bob Dylan only his name is Neil. Meaning, Neil is perhaps one of the greatest singer songwriter poets of our time. 40 plus albums and still going.
The reason why I still play the guitar...
The reason why I picked one up in the first place...
Thank you, NY.
Played guitar before knowing Neil, but reason why I took up harp.... Major musical influence and a hero of mine.
I actually can't think of any of Neil Young's songs that I don't like, the original Godfather of grunge 👍
Don't let it bring you down. Proves your right
Listen to the trans album and you won't say that
@@vichedges8858 well his always been known as the "Godfather of grunge " but cheers I don't think I've heard it
Neil does what other musician don't dare do. Trans album Rocks.
This was my late grandmother's favorite song. Thank you for doing this song. I miss her so much.
I've seen Neil 12 Times in Concert, I saw the Harvest Moon Tour ON HARVEST MOON when he played the tour Solo Acoustic and it is a great memory, only time can take from me ...
This always makes me cry....Comes A Time is great.
That's the power and the glory of music. The way it can make us feel.
I am a Neil fan and the Comes A Time album is great.
My favorite Neil Young song! Thanks, India. ♡♡♡
Loooove this song.. It's so simple yet so beautiful.. It was beautifully written and composed.. Just gives me chills.. When my younger sister came back from AZ, finally, we danced to this song..
“ Into the mystic” is an aural eargasm by Neil . I guarantee you will love it !
Love Neil Young! Master song writer.
In my sixties-Neil Young was just a big part of that music scene when I was in high school. Wow! How lucky we were in the late sixties and early seventies!
I just saw him get you...buetifll
That harmonica!!!!
@@tarahill2193 What does that mean?
Yes , we are lucky to grow up with such amazing artists. My first concert was seeing him with Buffalo Springfield in a small theater. Ticket was $2.50
Probably the very best song ever written , classic .
He always talks to the heart. 💋💘
Probably my favorite song from the latter part of Neil's career. (Yeah, it's from 1992-93, which seems like yesterday to me!). He did a really good job on this acoustic version too!
Pretty song.. One of his best
Keep on rocking in the free wold.
My favorite Neil Young song, reminds me of me and my hubby, been together since I was 16 and he was 19, now we are 55 and 59, love him with all my heart.
Reminds me of a girl I loved all my life, I fell for her when she was 18 and I 20. I'm 58 now. We were never together but I've thought of her every day, it's a torment but feels good at the same time.
Heart of gold is still my favorite of his but this is a great one
I think it's crazy that your reaction is still the only one I can find for this amazing song. Well done. It's in my top 5 of Neil songs. I know not everyone will have it so high, but I think 37th is severely underrating it, even with all his great songs.
Lovely, lovely song! Love Neil Young ❣ Seen him alone and with Crosby, Stills and Nash. You have to react to Crosby, Stills and Nash song "Our House" you'll love it India!!
I love Neil Young he has a smooth sound,,,,,I still have albums from back then I would have loved to see him in concert..
On this harvest moon!! One of my favorites for many moon's!
I just re-met my high school sweetheart after 20 years. We were together 2 years before I moved across the us. Very real song right now and love your reaction!!!! Needed this today...
Such a Beautiful performance and India is quite Beautiful as well
Finally. My fave young song. Thank you so much for reacting to it. Your face gave off so many beautiful signs while it played. I like to think he is talking about reigniting some part of his woman's passion that has been dormant because her life has taken some hurtful turns. And he wants to see her break through before that part of her is lost forever. Keep growing this channel. You are doing great so far.
Nice song summary 💖
India, the whole Harvest Moon album is just great.
I bought this LP when it first came out, have always loved it.
Although I haven't heard Harvest Moon in quite some time, it has brought me to tears.
It's still as beautiful as ever....maybe my age is making me sad, that all those good days are gone now.
A small reminder of one's mortality.
I am glad India and the younger ones are tuning in to such beautiful music...continue enjoying all of it!
I used to date a guy that played guitar & harmonica & he even had that harmonica holder around his neck & we went to a park & he played this for for me and can you even imagine!? I fell in love IMMEDIATELY! It didn't work out with the guy, but 30 yrs later, I still love Neil Young :)
the video for this is darling. Reminds me of Northern California. So beautiful.
Love that song, brought tears to my eyes. Thanks 🙏 love your reaction.
A really special song
India your man better treat you right. You are someone special!
Neil is one of the GOATS
It was such a pleasure watching a woman react to a beautiful love song.
I don't believe for one moment that your glow came only from your monitor.
I wish you rainbows India.
37th?
when I got older this became my favorite song. Beautiful!
The Godfather of Grunge. He has 50 songs that are just incredible. Harvest, OUT N THE WEEKEND(my fav). Like A Hurricane, Cinimonn Girl...so many
one of my favourite songs of all time!
This is easily in my top 5 favourite songs of all time
You are as pretty as Janet Jackson. I hope the man in your life treats you as special as you lady you are. I truly enjoy your reaction videos. You have such compassion in your reactions. Keep up the great work!
I love this song, this man could write a damn song. Try Needle and the Damage Done.
That's an intense song!
Or "Tired Eyes"
I love this man...whew....(smile)
Great job. This is probably the happiest song I know that gets tears flowing almost every time.
Charlie Cochran , good on you Charlie.
One of the very greatest songwriters ever!!!
Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song.
Hi Miss India! 👋 . Neil Young has some amazing performances. Love this one 👍 beautiful.
Love his music...and also note that one of the Monkees was in the video, also a great talent!
One of the most romantic songs ever.
Hermosa canción de Neil.
Beautiful song. I highly recommend Like A Hurricane too.
Thats the shit!
Pure country, a beautiful song.
the broom, i just love it every time
I think this is about his love lost, in those early days, for he loved her
One of best songs he ever did!
The broom is next level
Nice song very heart felt😊
One of my favorite songs!! heart heart
My favorite Neil Young song
Amazing man. He could write the sweetest love songs, or write Down By the River.
He's celebrating his love.
Most beautiful song.
Monster song writer, this is one of the greatest ever written
I like to see your reaction to The Needle And The Damage Done , a sad but beautifully written song he done in 1972 unfortunately it’s relevant to what is happening in today’s society as it was in the late 60s and early 70s when he wrote it
oh....love this sweet song!
Oh, good choice! No one reacts to this song. (It's about an old married couple.)
My favorite song ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
first time seeing your video! you have such a great smile and a great heart! I saw this because I'm a fan of neil young!
Love you way of interpretation x
Take care.
Robert Palmer simply irresistible, you will love it.
Yep - one of the most romantic songs ever - along with John Deacon (Queen) - "You're my best friend" -- I would melt if a man wrote a song like either of those for me... :)
Great song by a great writer.
Sweetest love song ever.
It's such a beautiful song!
You might also like "Only Love Can Break a Heart" and "Heart of Gold" by Neil.
This song has slowly but surely become one of my favorite songs ever.
