A nice sound, but as a vocalist (solo, ensemble, and choral) I have one observation. Vowels. For example... "America" ends in an "ah" not an "uh"--this is something the entire ensemble must attend to in order to sound more cohesive. The other observation is the soprano sound. It is a nice very present sound, but the sopranos are not agreeing on their sound with one being a little too bright to blend--much to be said for a more rounded sound to blend. The result is you hear more soprano and not a sufficient amount of the middle voices. One major exception to all of that was "Simple Gifts". That blend was simply sublime. Brilliant and beautiful overtones. And "God Bless America" was a sweet ending to the set. True gentile treatment of the material with subtlety and warmth that made stunning...and great contrast between the opening and middle section, with voices 'trumpeting' the sound--wonderful control. Thank you for the America faves. Happy Holiday!
